Don Shank Instagram – Element City This drawing was to help find the level of caricature to the scale of the buildings. It was done over a flexible model that Philip Metschan built of our city using real world scale. The buildings and features of my drawing is too big and we ended up finding something in between. I rarely had time to finish anything so I just filled out the buildings on the main island and most of the island Firetown is on but left the other islands empty. This is the image @lykawahara used as the layout for her amazing night time version of the city. In the back you can see a cool idea Dan Holland our sets art director had for a water hotel that doubles as a dam. It never found its place in the movie but we used that general idea for the waterfall tunnel that the Wetro train goes through while Ember is chasing Wade into the city. #elemental #pixar #pixarelemental #pixarelementalmovie #elementcity Pixar
