Disabling comments on this one because the people debating should be the CANDIDATES ❤️ #NoDebateNoDemocracy #DNC #democraticprimary This post seems to have resonated in ways I hadn’t quite anticipated, so a few thoughts: I’ve overseen comment sections on this page that have made me proud to know y’all. But when it comes to politics… I’ve also seen it get emotional. In a toxic way. Which I get. But I didn’t want to suck anyone (least of all myself) into checking a comment section all day that wasn’t ultimately going to be healthy or useful. And like I said, WE shouldn’t be debating (at least on here) the candidates should be. Second: We’re all in this together. I’m simply pro-democratic process. I hope the RNC has a debate as well. Debates take decisions and discussions out of the back rooms and into our living rooms, and it’s important to allow new ideas to come to the forefront. Third: I’ve been accused of being very hard on ‘ol Joe. I’m just looking at a guy who has aged a lot since that fantastic Colbert appearance he made the year he decided NOT to run. The change is undeniable. Question is: Is the man up to the task? To be one of two choices for possibly the most demanding, most important job in the world? It is OUR job to determine this. And to do that, we need more than just a press conference where he gets the questions in advance. I’ll cop to letting some of my anger come through upon finding out just how incapacitated Sen Diane Feinstein is, for how long it’s been going on, and how many steps were taken to hide it from voters. But mental acuity is a valid concern – one that, btw, could be erased by a strong debate performance. And… if standing up for your record, addressing ideas from within your own party, and sharing your vision for the future is going to HURT you? It begs the question: Are you REALLY the strongest candidate? But it any case… this is a decision to be made by US. Thank you to everyone who reached out in support ❤️

The last time this happened, the SAG president was an actor named Ronald Reagan. But do you know how many of us voted to authorize it? 98% Because we know the stakes. @deadline quoted an anonymous source saying the studios’ goal was to starve us out. To wait until writers start losing their “homes and apartments.” Now, there are always at least two sides to every negotiation… and some of these issues don’t have obvious, simple solves… but for the sake of every actor, writer, crew member, caterer, designer, hair, makeup, wardrobe, builder, entertainment publication, photographer, publicist, agent, manager, lawyer, teamster, editor, stunt team, intern, soundstage janitor and their families… Please have some compassion for just how many lives you effect “below the line.” These two unions have always existed to protect the artists you HAVEN’T heard of – yet. Three of my favorite people on what’s become my favorite podcast ❤️. My wife @vanderkimberly, her best friend: psychic medium and intuitive healer @peggyrometo, and my dance partner (and adopted VDB) @theemmaslater. Kim and Peggy wanted to create a safe place for people to laugh, cry, and share as authentically as women do over the bathroom sink. So we outfitted the women’s bathroom cabin on the property with podcast equipment. What it’s grown into is a beautiful experience for everyone who sits across from them; a living example of supportive sisterhood and community. And I love it. So drop in. It’s a great hang.
