I’m an NYC #DragQueen & political activist. I grew up in Maryland, have lived in NYC for 18 yrs & today am coming to you LIVE from Cape Cod National Seashore (Ptown)!
As a #DragArtist I’ve been proud to use my #Drag for political action. As the 1st openly #NonBinary candidate for city office in NY, I take very seriously the work for #Queer liberation. Being an activist, I get to travel often, which means opportunities to visit America’s great sites: from Stonewall in NYC to the forests & mountains being preserved by our parks system, which are valued for their unique ecosystems & biodiversity.
Being #LGBTQ, I realize we are also part of the human ecosystem, a part of human biodiversity & protecting us, providing us safe spaces, & preserving our rights & freedom are just as important. So I find a lot of similarities in nature preservation & LGBTQ activism.
This link is probably part-in-parcel thanks to my parents, who during my childhood took us all on camping trips. These memories are so important to me as I got to experience national parks like Acadia, Shenandoah, & Gettysburg at a young age.
These adventures have carried into adulthood with hikes through the Rocky Mountains, sledding in the dunes of White Sands, soaking up the sun in Fire Island & Cape Cod, exploring the depths of Carlsbad Caverns, & relishing in the history of Stonewall & our nations capital.
I recently had the opportunity to host Pikes Peak Pride in Colorado Springs. There, my partner & I took some time to hike through the Rocky Mountains. We both share a deep love for nature & exploration & we love doing it together. Getting to take in these beautiful mountains with him & family was such a great way to deepen connection & reset from our busy schedules.
My dream is to camp in Yellowstone & see the changing leaves in the great Smokey mountains – all the colors, like those in our beautiful community.

Today marks 54 years since The Stonewall Riots. A movement led by black & brown trans women. A movement for queer liberation. A movement that continues today as the rights of trans people are under attack. There is no LGB without T! We must continue to riots of Stonewall. 🏳️⚧️ 🌈
When I ran for office I was asked by a documentary crew to cover the campaign. The directors did a teaser of the film tonight at @thestonewallinn and this film @queenofnyfilm isn’t about me or the campaign it’s about fighting for housing, education, livable wages, abortion – all queer issues. It’s about fighting for our transgender, non binary, queer community and kids under attack. Hope is a form of resistance and we will not lose hope.

July 10-14 is #nonbinaryawarenessweek
I first came out at 14 but also felt there was still as missing part of who I was. Towards my late 20s that missing part of me started to make sense & I came out all over again.
As attacks on our non binary & trans community rise we must stay loud & proud with who we are.

I came out at 14 but felt there was still a missing piece to the puzzle. 5 years ago I came out again as non-binary. I am proud of who I am. In a world where our identities are being legislated, where non binary, trans, gender queer people are being discriminated against I proudly stand in who I am.
