Rob Benedict Instagram – Alan Arkin was not only an inspiration, one of my favorite actors, but a mentor and father to some of my favorite people, including my best friend Tony.
I had the pleasure of knowing him, and have such fond memories of him taking me under his wing when I was first getting my start in Los Angeles in the 90s. He would send me postcards from sets and once brought me on the set of “steal big steal little” so I could experience real Hollywood movie making. He introduced me as his son’s best friend and then he would add “and well. He’s my best friend too”.
Please do yourself a favor and go look at his catalog of work: wait until dark, the heart is a lonely Hunter, the in-laws, catch 22, glengarry glen ross, Edward Scissorhands to name just a few.
