don’t watch if you’re afraid of ghosts
it’s been over a full year since I’ve picked up a paintbrush (feels extremely weird to write that!) but over the past two weeks something has been pushing me to get back into it. I’ve been holding fast to that feeling and trying to just paint without worry or some kind of end goal. It’s a nice feeling! 💗 #pokemon #sylveon #gouache

the blues they send to meet me, won’t defeat me 🌧 I drew the sketch for this during a subway trip and decided to do it as a speed paint when I got home, it was definitely challenging! I don’t typically enjoy painting in that manner, I’m more of a “meticulously pick out colours in advance” kind of person 😅 but it’s good to get out of your comfort zone sometimes, just put on a great playlist and see what you can do in a limited amount of time. #illustration #pokemon #gouache #colouredpencils
My goal with this one was to imagine what Vaporeon (one of my FAV Pokémon) would look like in a midcentury style- Niko says the end result is giving Chuck Jones vibes but that wasn’t my intention 😂 I spend a lot of time looking at and saving vintage advertisements, especially ones that feature paint swatches for kitchens/cars, you really get a feel for what colours were considered trendy during different decades. If you ever feel stuck I recommend looking at these types of ads and trying to make art using only the palette in the ads, it’s good fun 💗 #gouache #gouchepainting #illustration #pokemon
