These 3 tips helped me make huge improvements in math back in school.
1. Make little study summaries of each major topic or chapter. These are cheat sheets of formulas, conditions for when and where to use the equations and logical reasonings. Study summaries are great for when you’re revising; instead of leafing through a thick textbook, you have a summarised guidebook of everything you need to know on a few pieces of paper.
2. Practice! Math is one of those topics where practice will see improvement. But make it deliberate practice. Time yourself, write down everything you do not know. And never ever spend hours pondering over a question. I always tell my students, when you get stuck on a question for too long, it’s time to ask for help; from a friend, a teacher, a tutor. Let someone walk you through the mental block. Do not read the answers and solutions, it’s a passive way of learning and most of the times, the knowledge would not be retained anyways.
3. Write down everything when solving questions. Jot down your entire thinking process of how you have calculated or moved variables back and forth. Be deliberately clear, and over communicate. Clear work will make it easy for your mind to follow the logical process, and quickly pick out any mistakes. It will also train your mind to be extra rigorous when going through calculations, and reduce any risks of careless mistakes!

how is everyone holding up this year?
turns out doing and teaching secondary a/emath and junior college h1/h2/h3 math all at the same time, on top of work/filming commitments, while getting a bad medical report and having to take regular medication/check ups, plus pursuing my own further edu is not as easy as I thought it would be. Who knew?! 2023 is going great though, I love it. Tackling one day at a time 🧡

This was such a fun, wholesome trip, with so many surprises in store. And a stone’s throw from Singapore. I can’t wait to be back. 🎡
This was what we did:
Day 1: Checked into Resorts World Awana, a beautiful hotel, surrounded by nature. We explored the hotel’s serene golf course up in the highlands and the outdoors heated pool before taking the Awana SkyWay cable car up to the Skytropolis Indoor Theme Park, and spent the evening on thrilling rides!
Day 2: Moved into Crockfords, a stunning 5 star hotel in Resorts World Genting for a special nights’ stay, (and also the only hotel in Malaysia to have received the prestigious Forbes Travel Guides 5-star rating for five consecutive years) For those asking, we stayed in the Executive Suite Room, and that is also where we got the birds eye view of the sunrise over the highlands in the am. In the afternoon, we explored Ripley’s Adventureland, touring through the Jurassic Research Centre, and bouncing around in the Jungle Gym.
Day 3: My final day 🥹 we spent it in Genting Skyworlds Theme Park. Oh cool tip! You can download the Genting Skyworlds mobile app to pre-book your rides and shows! Less time in physical queues! Then we had lunch at the amazing Buck’s Cafe. Don’t forget to book your tickets online for greater savings! They have promotions that are exclusively on their website.
Overall, would 10/10 recommended.There’s something for everyone, friends, family, kids, and it was a truly fun, and delightful getaway. Can’t wait to be back again!
