I grew up watching The Legend of Zorro and always dreamed that one day I would grow up to become Catherine Zeta Jones and fight Antonio Banderas. Fast forward 20 something years later, guess who I find myself on set with? Antonio Banderas!!! Doing a whole bar fight, shooting at each other, jumping over the bar, getting bottles thrown at me, “holding hands” and “looking each other in the eye” before he smashes my head into the wall and shoots me in the head. What a dream come true for the little girl who had dreams to be in Hollywood. Sometimes I really believe we can think things into reality and you never know when it’ll happen. I’ve been keeping my training to myself for the past two months. Grinding and trying to breakthrough new moves. It feels ugly, with lots of trial and error, repetition, foundation, discipline, patience, alone time…it’s been difficult to be this focused and pay any mind to posting. Recently discovered I have something called hyper-focus, and will ignore everything around me: noise, people, time, food, sleep, just to be able to keep doing the thing that has my attention, for hours at a time. I get agitated if I’m interrupted without a really good reason. Here’s a nugget from recent training that doesn’t look like much but made me very happy. I’m still actively pursuing all things you know me to, just not sharing it often. Decided to start from zero and relearn raiz from scratch, came up with my own progressions and breakdown to achieve it the way I want it done. This is my grind in a nutshell. A lot of trial and error, frustration of trying to figure out each piece of technique, shutting out the noise… And finally a raiz is born!!! I’m finally happy with the end result 😃 I’m glad I decided to throw away the old one. Sometimes you gotta be willing to accept starting over again, no matter what others around you are saying. Took my iPhone for a swim 🤿 who knew these iphones can dive and shoot such crispy footage underwater 😃 remember back in the day, once our phone fell into the water you had to snatch it back up super fast and it wouldn’t turn on for three days, or the home button would stop working? 😅 I’ve had an old iphone fall into a toilet once 🤢 washed it and it still worked, but not everyone was that lucky.
