Ivanna Sakhno Instagram – It’s been a difficult morning in Ukraine after a night of missile strikes all across the country. Reflecting on my time in Washington D.C. and want to extend my gratitude to @razom.for.ukraine for organizing such a productive few days. Prior to the nationwide rally, @razom.for.ukraine advocacy team and I met with the office of Representative Gomez in Washington D.C. to speak on how we can best continue our support of Ukraine and some principal issues and legislations that need attention, including expedited military aid, TPS, sanctions agains russian oligarchs and terrorist designations for russia & the Wagner Group. I want to thank Representative Gomez, his Chief of Staff and former advisor to Nensi Pelosi Carlos Paz for the meeting and for Representative’s leadership in helping get extended protection status for displaced Ukrainians. – In March of last year, he led a sign on letter addressed to the Department of Homeland Security to extend Special Student Relief and Temporary Protected Status for Ukrainians in the United States – this extension was granted.
