many warm feelings from today’s visit to Ms. Shao here in austin 🌼 Ms. Shao is originally from Guangdong, China and has been playing guzheng since childhood, learning from Master Xu Disheng. her traditional music has taken her to many countries all around the world and in Austin she founded and instructs the first texas guzheng music band—a rare gem to find in texas. it is a surreal moment to hear her play for us at her home today… an honor that this is the guzheng I will be playing and caring for this weekend for my first showcase at sxsw. heart is happy🌟 📸: @ziibiwan

i travelled to Tokyo for the first time last year, visiting my fave @emiksn 💗🗼 the 17 hr time difference managed to fix my nightowl-ness instead of give me jet lag, and the very next morning i began filming a 360 music video with Emi and her synthwave band Satellite Young ⚡️our “Break! yo ～～ it’s been a minuteeee and now ya girl is living in taipeiiiiii — marking over a year. 💗 the plan to get here was years in the making and there were many rupturing experiences along the way I’m still learning to transform, but im grateful for all it took to get me here. im giving myself the summers in taipei i didn’t have access to growing up. the privilege of having the access to not only travel but get to experience life & create home here isn’t lost on me. i’ve been reflecting on 緣分yuánfèn, the 糹in 緣being the silk thread。 緣分 loosely translates to “fate” in English, but from what I learned, it’s less prescriptive and has more to do with the natural flow of people in and out of your life. we all just undulating in the looom. & out here, the yuanfen is heavyyyyy 🥺 It takes a lot of courage and humility to open one’s community to another so thank you to all who’ve welcomed me in the 886 so far ~ 感謝my 很有fashun的阿姨 squad, elders n 抓周d bbs, friends who know me as kayla or 小包 or butterfly 姐姐的愷樂 lol we be making ~community~ together out here, and anyone who i got to share gentle flows with. And my ♡’s who hold me down with nocturnal heart 2 hearts. i been told it’s important to put down flags in life as reminders of where we’ve been, so maybe that’s what this is for me… or maybe this is all just an excuse to share cute pics, so there ＼٩(๑`^´๑)۶//／ i can’t wait to share the beautiful things we been making together out here. for now wishing everyone gentle flows this summer 🌊🌊🌊 哟哟哟～～好久不見喔。我已經住了台北一年多。我好幾年準備搬家搬到這裡，路不太順利，但是很感激所經歷的一切成就了今天的我。 我小時候沒有機會來台灣，開心有機會創作新的家，經驗這裡的生活。這裡我就是信任緣分🥺 開放自己的社交空間是需要很大的勇氣的,所以我要謝謝所有在886歡迎我的好朋友，阿姨團體，老和小的homies。我們一起建立社區～真的讓我很感動。很期待分享我們一起創作的事。希望大家能夠度過一個美好的夏天，就像溫柔的海浪一樣hehe 🌊🌊
