Melanie Lynskey Instagram – A huge honour to participate in this Hollywood Reporter roundtable! It has been one of my “dare I dream this big??” secret hopes in my heart. And it happened! I was nervous, but instantly put at ease by this incredible group of actors. Every person was warm, funny, very vulnerable, and super smart. I loved getting to talk about our work and our lives. Thank you, Emma D’Arcy (I can’t @ them but wow what a kind and charismatic person, not to mention a brilliant actor. What they are doing on their show is insanely hard- they make it look effortless, easy, so natural, and there is a ferocity and a depth to their character which is so compelling.) @jennifer.garner (so warm, so giving, super smart and thoughtful, and so grounded, controlled, still and wonderful in the extremely bingeable The Last Thing He Told Me- and if you ask me she was ROBBED of an Emmy for Camping, which you must see if you haven’t, she’s unbelievable in it) @jennifercoolidge, (the one and only! Hilarious, disarming, open, and just so stunningly beautiful and obviously iconically brilliant in The White Lotus, not to mention 1000 others including Best In Show which is one of my favourites of all time) @domfishback (you know how I feel but let me reiterate- this actor is at the top of her game and she’s still so young!! What she’s capable of is astonishing. The range, the character work, the intelligence she brings to her work- her Dre in Swarm is the performance of the year for me and in person she’s no less amazing, I loved getting more insight into her process) and @clairedanes (so smart, super open and really wise. Thinking about the sheer number of performances of hers that have made me uncontrollably weep- it’s crazy!! She has been just so good for so long and somehow manages to give her best ever performance in Fleishman Is In Trouble, which I LOVED) thank you for this day.
