Melanie Lynskey Instagram – It’s taken me a long time to write this post because a) I’ve been afraid of people being like “SPOILER” and b) I kind of love this person too much to put into words. But let me try. @juliettelewis , since I first saw you on screen it’s been one of my dreams to get to work with you. I’m so grateful to @yellowjackets for making the dream come true. I had a beautiful conversation with Lauren Ambrose about what it’s like witnessing your talent (when we caught each other crying after a close-up on you). We ended up agreeing that it’s basically a spiritual experience. You’re channeling something. You are so open and your gift is limitless. You’re electric to watch, and to get to act with you feels like participating in a magic act. You’re the magician, and I’m like the volunteer from the audience who’s going “woah! Crazy!” You’re loving, naughty, wise, and funny. I love sitting and chatting with you, but I also love just watching you pace around and eat approximately ten thousand different snacks in a day. Seriously, an astounding amount of food for such a tiny person. I hope to keep receiving wild Marco polos that feel like Dogme 95 projects from you forever. I hope you feel free and joyful always.
