Salt Lake City!!! What a freaking epic night / city / group of humans. I had the BEST time hanging out with you. EXTRA big thank you to everyone who drove from other states to be there… the fact that you’d give up that much time and energy to hang out me is beyond humbling. 🤟🏻
Next weekend we’re in Boston Toronto so if that’s your neck of the woods, I hope you’ll come hang out. Link is in my bio.
ep 436 – Hanging out with comedian @tompapa on the pod this week and talking about creativity and marriage and career and aging and books and music and having a —surprisingly in depth— conversation about Mark Wahlberg 😂

Adding my tour sticker to my sticker collection made my whole freaking day!!
Salt Lake City, I can’t wait to see you tonight! 🥰

My 6 year old daughter drew this picture of me.
I have 6 hearts?
Or a 6-pack?
Or 6 boobies?
Whatever’s happening on my chest— I don’t have arms or legs but I DO have an a-symmetrical haircut.
Yes of COURSE it’s been laminated for safe keeping.
only getting “one chance” to chase down your goal, find the love of your life, pursue your passion, etc etc etc… that’s a myth.
It’s only your “one chance” if you quit after your first attempt.

a quick word on… considering the source
The other night, after my show, a group of women walked by the green room (I’m sure, not realizing I was inside it) and I heard them say… “I’m actually surprised, Rachel is much prettier in real life than she is on the internet” 😂
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
so— just want to let you guys know that yes, when a highly skilled professional does my hair and makeup I am much prettier “in real life” 💁🏼♀️
thanks @mua_nat
Guys… I had stickers made!!! 🤩
I love learning new things.
I love reading books filled with interesting ideas and listening to podcasts that hype me up.
I adore a conference.
I’m here for a coaching session, a mastermind or a documentary.
I’m all about ANY type of content that helps me get ideas and hacks and skills to pursue whatever it is I’m pursuing.
But.
Whatever you’re into— be it leadership or health or spirituality or research on how to buy a laundry mat to make passive income—It’s really easy to consume content and trick yourself into believing that’s “the work”.
This week on the podcast I did a two-part episode on Imposter Syndrome— and one thing I’ve learned about insecurity is that it can be counter-attacked by taking action to gain experience.
Take action.
Gain experience.
But if you’re only ever reading/learning/listening to other people’s experiences of success, it’s never going to give you as much courage and confidence as working out (and working through!) your own stack of failures.
Don’t read the rest of the book until you master the advice you learned in the first chapter.
Content is a great way to get (or stay) excited about your goals… but at some point, you have to stop consuming THEIR content and start living YOUR own.
A little recap of PHOENIX, AZ!
Salt Lake City I can’t wait to see you next week!! 🤟🏻
Phoenix thank you SO much!!!
Last night was a freaking EPIC way to kick off this tour.
When the team suggested AZ as a stop I honestly wasn’t even sure I had an audience here— let alone 500 people who’d pay for tickets and find babysitters and sit in traffic and wait in line all to come and fill the room with laughter and the most incredible energy… what an amazing gift to share that experience with you 🥹 I’m so grateful.
if you’re not using the kitchen chalkboard to write lame jokes that make your kids 🙄 are you even parenting?
ep 433: If I didn’t love my life so much, I’d want to be @zanelowe
been wanting this hang for YEARS and the reality was so much better than I could have dreamed of!! We talked music and artists and building a career and imposter syndrome and anxiety and passion and purpose, etc etc
Fellow music nerds, you’re gonna love this one.
Listen wherever you get your pods 🤟🏻

Advice to a Younger Me… get a journal and write it all down.
Write about the good stuff and the hard stuff and the bird splashing in the puddle on the sidewalk.
Write about the first time you had a cappuccino at 16 and swore you’d never drink coffee again.
Write about the boy who kissed you sweetly and then shoved his hand inside your bra. Write about how you were too scared to tell him to stop even though it hurt.
Write about the first day of school.
Write about your favorite English teacher, and how much you hate algebra. You’ll still have nightmares about being in that algebra class when you’re 40, so this unpacking might save us both some time.
Write about Mama and Daddy.
Write about braces. Write about how much you hate your hair. Write about TRL and pop music and how free you felt to drive by yourself when you first got your license.
Write about how your mom signed up you for cake decorating classes at the local Michaels without asking you first, and you totally hated it. You still know how to make a rose out of royal icing by the way, so it won’t be a total loss.
Write about saving up money to move to LA. Write about playing Wide Open Spaces the whole drive to your new apartment.
Get a journal and write it all down. Because someday, when you’re about 30, you’ll begin to do just that and you’ll wish you had started this precious relationship with yourself much sooner ✨
EP 429: My friend @dopequeenpheebs is back on the show for another great conversation!
How do you overcome the mentality, “I should be further along by now”??
How do you bounce back after a project ends?
How do you learn to actually enjoy the process?
How many times have you seen U2 in concert???
We’re getting into it all… listen in wherever you listen to podcasts!
