The recent massive immigration by the Iranian artists, youth, the elite, and those whose lives are in danger under the barbaric regime of the Islamic Republic in Iran reminds me of what our late king, the Shah of Iran once said about migration. He knew what a vicissitude life awaited us before any of us knew. The Shah was always ahead of his time and of us. May his soul rest in peace.

Portraying Mother Mary in this extraordinary series streaming on Peacock was not only challenging but also reminded me of all the mourning mothers who’ve lost their sons and daughters to freedom of expression and belief. Working with the talented actress Betty Gilpin once again proved to me that having a brilliant partner on the screen makes the other partners shine too.
This series is up for several nominations, and I keep my fingers crossed for Betty and all the
artists involved in bringing it to the screen and your attention.
