This is the magical obstetrician Claire Mellon and midwives at The Whittington Hospital. They taught me so much about the wonder of labour – which I’m embarrassed to say I knew absolutely nothing about. Being on the Ward changed me forever. It gave me an even deeper appreciation for how powerful women are, as well as how tirelessly midwives work – especially during this time – to safely help mamas bring life into the world. Thank you so much for all you taught me – and to our amazing NHS, who are there for us when we need it most.

Here is a special one. One of my first films I was lucky enough to work with the master and force of nature that is John Boorman. The Boormans are truly some of the kindest, most soulful people I am now so grateful to call family. Katrine made this beautiful film about her father and what family means to all of us – even more poignant in this year of all years when we’ve all been so separated. It is so moving, hilarious, profound, relatable – one of those truly rare ones that makes you cry and laugh all at once in the very same second.
