Uncanny.
Right down to the hair dye.
PS: truly, this has nothing to do with politics.
I just think the resemblance is remarkable.
Also, remember what we have struggled to maintain here in the US: don’t let politics overwhelm your sense of humor.
Happy birthday to a remarkable and special person.
I love you, Carmen

For the past 33 years The Baldwin Fund has been proud to be a part of Rhe New York State Fair. Thousands of volunteers have partnered with us, the community has come to learn about our mission, celebrate survivors and honor the warriors who have and will battle breast cancer.
Our mission is always to serve our community and that will not change. 💞
Changes happen, and I have remained committed but I can no longer participate and feel it is time to take a stand for what is right for the organization and the people who work so hard to help us. After a meeting this past week I can no longer stand for the changes being made by the leaders at the State Fair. We the vendors and organizations are the heart of the NYS Fair and our voices are not being heard. When you can no longer feel good about the task at hand and it becomes a distraction to serving our community it becomes time to make a change. This year you will not see the Baldwin Fund at the NYS Fair. This decision was not made lightly.
Again I want to give my very sincerest thank you to all who have given of their time and talents, all who have stopped and shared your stories and your loved ones stories with us over the years. We are still here, we will continue to focus on the mission of raising critical funding for treatment and a cure for breast cancer. #TogetherWeWillFindACure

Our Here’s the Thing Summer Staff Picks series continues, featuring our favorite episodes from the archives. This week, we revisit the episode picked by Frank Imperiale, my interview with @mickfleetwoodofficial, drummer and founding member of Fleetwood Mac, one of the most successful rock bands of all time.
We discuss how his dyslexia led him to drumming, how supportive parents encouraged his talent and his move to London as a teenager, how his friendship with the band’s founder, guitarist Peter Green, evolved to a life-long friendship, and how Fleetwood Mac balanced the weight of their interpersonal dynamics and the band’s wild, over-the-top success.
Mick, a resident of Hawaii, is on our minds right now

This week on Here’s The Thing… Making recent headlines is the arrest in a cold case over a decade old, the Long Island Serial Killer. From 2010 to 2012, the remains of 11 bodies were found on or near Gilgo Beach on the east end of Long Island.
Last month, authorities arrested Rex Heuermann, a 59-year-old architect charged with the murder of three women in the case – and named as a prime suspect in a fourth. True crime documentary and podcast producers @billyjensen and @alexislinkletter were on the hunt long before these recent developments.
Their 2021 podcast “Unraveled: Long Island Serial Killer,’’ uncovers a web of corruption and cover-ups perpetuated by the Suffolk County Police Department that enabled the investigation to go unresolved for so long. Together, we speak about their findings, what the recent discoveries reveal – and what questions still remain.

It’s time for the final episode in our Summer Staff Picks series, highlighting favorite conversations from the Here’s The Thing archives. This week, we revisit my conversation with Andrew Berman. He has been called one of the most powerful people in New York real estate, but not because he’s a deep-pocketed developer.
Berman is the Executive Director of Village Preservation, where he advocates for the protection and conservation of historically important buildings and sites. We speak about his background and what led him to this field, how the changing zoning laws affect his work, his wish for the city’s future, the recent wins that Village Preservation has achieved, the ways the city has changed since covid, and the challenges involved in solving the city’s affordable housing crisis.
