David Bowie Instagram – EASY STAR ALL-STARS ZIGGY STARDUB UK TOUR

“Then we were Ziggy’s band…”

It’s no surprise that David Bowie was a fan of reggae (he singled out both Forces Of Victory by Linton Kwesi Johnson and Funky Kingston by Toots And The Maytals in a list of his favourite albums), and though we would never want to second guess him, we have a hunch he would have enjoyed Ziggy Stardub by @EasyStarAllStars.

Reading through comments on socials, it seems many of you have given the thumbs up to this tribute to Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust album since its release in April.

Issued via Easy Star Records the LP features guest appearances from Macy Gray, Maxi Priest, Steel Pulse, Fishbone, Alex Lifeson (Rush) among many others.

If you’re in the UK over the next couple of weeks, you can catch the band behind the record, the superb Easy Star All-Stars, live around England.

Check out the official Easy Star All-Stars page for tickets and their other tributes: https://easystar.com/artists/easy-star-all-stars/#ontour (Linktree in bio)

While you’re there check out the following videos:

“Sending me so far away, so far away…”

Today’s grab is from @floriasigismondi’s wonderful Little Wonder video at #17 in our poll, which some of us had in our Top Five here at DBHQ.

Forgot to mention that yesterday’s grab was from @tonyoursler’s Where Are We Now?, a man who also made incredible contributions to Little Wonder with his surreal projections.

Anyway, here’s the second batch of five in our countdown to #1.

#17 – Little Wonder 1997
#18 – Blue Jean / Jazzin’ For Blue Jean 1984
#19 – Fashion 1980
#20 – Wild Is the Wind 1981
#21 – Thursday’s Child 1999

Tune in tomorrow for Part Three.
