As #Blonde prepares to drop later this month, I thought I’d share a few pics from one of Andrew Dominik’s earlier works, “The Assassination of Jesse James By the Coward Robert Ford,” which just turned 15 a few days ago. Loved this experience. Great director, great cast (#BradPitt, #SamRockwell, #SamShepard and so many unpictured) and the great DP #RogerDeakins in the last frame, lighting the train robbery scene (I would work with him again later that same year on “No Country for Old Men”). Seeing this candid of Shepard here as Frank James is bittersweet.

Her second album came out mid-grad school for me. My three roommates and I wore that album out in our 334 Bowery St apartment. Formative years. Influential music. Thank you and rest in peace, Sinéad.

Great weekend watching my talented wife @realmichellehurd honored by her alma mater, @bostonu, with a distinguished alumni award (her 2nd—cause she keeps on distinguishing herself). Here she is making other people feel seen and empowered during her acceptance speech (like she does); then on the steps of the beautiful Booth theater, which she wishes existed during her tenure as a student; and finally, meeting the wonderful artist and gem of a human, @ceyadams at the opening of his 40 yr retrospective (a must-see if you’re in Boston). 🙌🏼 👑 ❤️ #proud

Don’t ask me how we got @chrisbauer3 (in my opinion one of the best actors of my generation) to play Stan on #SPRUNG. Maybe he’s fallen on hard times, I dunno. Or he’s just doin’ us a favor or had some time to kill, maybe? Beats me. But how freakin’ great are him and @marthaplimpton together?!!! Great actors = great chemistry. These pics are from his first day on set. Seemed like he stepped out of the van, we handed him pages, he glanced at them without breaking stride, said “Got it” and kept walking to his first mark. Greg called action, he nailed it in one and went home. Of course this is not what actually happened (he’s very prepared) but it felt that smooth. He’s got his own stuff cookin’, not the least of which is @heelsstarz and my buddy Matt Ross’ @gaslitstarz. Unsurprisingly, he is completely different in every endeavor. Seek him out—there’s a ton.
