I did a lot of things in my 20s. Things that 10-year-old (or even 19-year-old!) Claire wouldn’t have considered to be in the realm of possibility. I saw my name printed in the front of a new play (thank you @roguemachinetheatre ). I traveled Europe with one sister (love you @elliegwelder ) and drove cross country to live in a 6th floor walk up in Alphabet City with the other (love you @hollyblackwelder ). I did 44 episodes of a beloved tv show (thank you @powerrangers ). I got a brother-in-law and a nephew (love you @kgoebs ). I played rockstar on the sea and in LA bars. I got a fckin MFA @academyindc . I dated some people that were really not good for me and some that really, really were. I lived in 20 homes (you read that correctly) ranging from my Honda Fit to a big ol house in Auckland. I got closer with my parents than I ever thought I could. I summited 14k ft mountains. I played Hedda Gabler. I met and fell in love with so many unfathomably beautiful people along the way. On the eve of my 30th birthday I cried a LOT about having seemingly nothing on the horizon as I enter the next decade, and Ethan said, “the beautiful thing about a blank canvas is you can put whatever you want on it.” Others say your 30s are when you stop giving a shit what other people think. So here’s to my decade of finishing business I’ve already started and not giving a shit how it’s received. There’s so much I want to do, and I can’t wait to make it happen. Thank you for being here with me for the ride. I love you all so much. Last pic is how I feel.

I leave for the airport in an hour so naturally I’m doing this instead of packing like I need to
Saw a bear across the river and welcomed a buck into our campsite on day one and that was BEFORE the alpine lake hike

I wrote a poem for every day of April again. Last time I did this I was quarantined here in Boise in 2020. It’s strange to perform the same exercise in the same place three years later under entirely different circumstances. Many things have changed, but I guess I still have a lot of feelings!!!!!
