(And the last slide is mostly a reminder to myself that heart and goodness is a priority.) Striking is never the first option, nor is it anything we wanted to do, but we have been forced and backed into immovable corners by a system designed to let billionaires keep billionairing while we fight for the freedom we used to call a livelihood. To legally put contracts in place that not only devalue our work, but threaten to make it obsolete is a true and unfathomable evil. You can’t attempt to destroy everything that makes art beautiful, and say we are the ones responsible. We didn’t do this. But now we have to do this.
