With views overlooking the lush rain forest, rice paddies, and the roaring Ayung river, my room felt like a personal sanctuary. It was the perfect blend of tranquillity and comfort with intricate Balinese hand painted walls, dark Indonesian wood fixtures, and a grand cloud like bed adorned with high thread count sheets and fluffy cool pillows. Every morning, I woke up smiling to the melodious chirping of exotic tropical birds. Every detail has been thought of and any whim you may have catered to; Caca, our resourceful butler, addressed me as “Ibu Judy”, an honorific name for Miss/ Mr or mother/father. And, don’t forget to enjoy a Balinese meal at Swah Terrace – simply unbeatable. I loved the fragrant curry served in a coconut, and the lightly pan-fried tempeh glazed with sweet soy and tamarind.
