Birdgirl S2 TOMORROW at midnight on @adultswim and then stream anytime on @hbomax 🖤 I love this cast and creative team so much, can’t wait for you to see what we’ve been cooking up!
This Martin Luther King Day, I’m asking white folx to contribute funds towards @geniusisa.world’s cancer treatments as reparations.
Instead of looking at this as a charity, looking at this through a lens of reparations or mutual aid means contributing funds with the result of Isa’s thrival is mutually beneficial to society as a whole. And with all do respect, if you posted a black square last year but haven’t done anything since, this is an opportunity to put your support into action. #BlackLivesMatter is more than just posting a hashtag or a Martin Luther King quote or intellectually supporting; ACTION of a distribution of resources and money is needed to participate.
Reparations is a great way to show that #blacklivesmatter in action.
Also, I’ve been wanting to get this off my chest; I identify as Christian, and to white Christians who say, “pull yourself up by your bootstraps,” I respectfully say to you, nowhere in the Bible does it say to pull yourself up by your bootstraps! The Bible says to carry each others burdens. Martin Luther King rebuked the whole pull yourself up by your bootstraps argument all the time. So to honor MLK, his belief in reparations, if you’re a white person who posted a black square, marched, etc… but haven’t really done much else, I encourage you to participate in contributing to the thrival of Isa.
Also, my friend said something powerful that when a Black man dies, white people are quick to post a hashtag, but here’s an opportunity to support a young Black boy’s LIFE while he’s still here, and the truth is there’s been crickets and Isa has had a harder time raising funds for his treatments than white children cancer patients.
The fact that Isa’s mom has to pay $15,000 for treatment every week and doesn’t have it is wrong.
Thank you @freckledwhileblack for last slide. Me and Brea had a great live last year talking about reparations during #sharethemic and forever grateful to @weinspirejustice family.
So again, reparations is a great way to show that #blacklivesmatter in action and honor MLK today. Link in bio to contribute funds.

RIP Thich Nhat Hanh 💖 My first pottery piece that I made was a tea cup for my Mom because my Mom always said she wanted to be like Thich Nhat Hanh and “take one hour every morning to drink [her] tea.” I wanted to surprise her with the cup so I took her and my brother to the Russian Tea room that Christmas and our lovely waitress was in on the plan to bring her tea cup out with dessert and say, “Now you can be like Thich Nhat Hanh.” I am so happy my brother captured the comedy that ensued 🤣

Isa was diagnosed with rare stage 4 High-Risk Neuroblastoma Cancer. But did that bring his spirits down? Not at all! 5 year old, Genius Isa (@geniusisa.world) turned tragedy into triumph by starting a BLACK OWNED TOY BUSINESS! ✊🏿Isa’s conventional treatments came with a low survival rate, so his mom found an Integrative Treatment that offered hope for Isa’s diagnosis. Isa has been thriving with his Integrative treatments but they are very expensive.
5 year-old Isa started his dream toy company to raise the money to Overcome his cancer diagnosis. Isa’s first product is a JUMBO SLIME KIT! For every slime kit purchased, one will be donated to a childhood cancer patient. By helping Isa, you are helping many children down the line. Isa & his family are shaking up a flawed medical system & fighting for the rights of Black childhood cancer patients in this country! They hope to make a positive change & need the support of a VILLAGE! 💪🏽
