Keepsakes. Tokens. Relics. We keep (sometimes) tiny pieces that will float us back to recapture the smells and places and feelings of a moment. Of a breath. Of a time. Of lightning in a bottle… Season 1 of @psychpeacock we wore badges in the station. It look legit. We always had issues on where to attach them. Lapels? Pockets? Waistbands? In the end they were silly and stupid. So I have no idea why I kept this plastic faded badge. But 17 years later… I know where I’m transported to every time it tumbles out of my top dresser drawer unannounced, as if it knows when I need the soft reminder of lightning captured. All around me were familiar faces… Hollywood Bowl. 8/2/23. I am forever grateful to surprising friends I have met along my way. This night was a gift. A joy. A reunion. A celebration of such amazing music and talent that moments left me grabbing my friends in a shared understanding of experience. It was simply awesome. We have walked and marched and listened and held each other when things were great and cried on each other’s shoulders when things were low. Art creates connections for which the heart searches. Day 1 & Day 73. We didn’t want a strike but we are not afraid of a fight. Back at Warner Bros. and man the picket line atmosphere has SKYROCKETED! 9am arrival & the lines were already packed (actors take that fucking calltime SERIOUSLY). Signs and tshirts needed to be restocked. Split the tent check-ins between gates for the Writers (Gate 4) and the Actors (Gate 2- freaking SMART!!). Stood with HUNDREDS if not a THOUSAND fellow laborers blowing whistles and cheering on the show of support from honking cars!! We’ve swollen the sidewalks around the studio to capacity!! God forbid we’re here another 73 days but our resolve is fierce and strong. Plus… I’ve got a new sign… One day longer, one day stronger! #SAGAFTRAstrike #WGAstrike #1u
