Tonight we go on strike, but first: Star Trek & my late partner Brian Bannon changed my life. Next week’s #StrangeNewWorlds honors him. He was a force of nature, larger than life, and too bright for this world. So a nebula seems fitting. #BannonsNebula @AkivaGoldsman @alonsomyers
Best space friends. ✨ Back at it June 15th. 🚀 Boimler & Mariner & Carol Kane, too. 🖖 #StrangeNewWorlds #StarTrek

La’an & Ortegas, up to what? Wrong answers only. And Happy Season 2 Premiere Day! #StarTrek #StrangeNewWorlds
When you love your job and are really good at it and are also moving at tremendous speed. #StarTrek
On the picket line this week with my niece & @the_furious_owl! Thank you to all the friends & family members & sister unions who have been fighting with us. Standing together is everything. Solidarity is why we know we will win. ✊🎭 I owe so very much of my ability to endure and succeed in this business to my family and my Brian, who have always and fervently supported my ambitions and championed my efforts. I have found that the people you surround yourself with are as important to artistic success (and sanity) as everything you yourself bring to the table, not least of which is that burning, at-times inexplicable passion from deep within that urges you in even the darkest moments to “never give up, never surrender!” I cannot wait to get back to work, to get back to doing what I love with a supremely talented cast & crew of storytellers. Until then, a life of uphill hustling has primed all us working actors & writers for this moment. However long they think we can go, we can go longer. Because the future of our industry is at stake. Because we deserve fair contracts, respect, transparency, and living wages for the work we do and the stories we look forward to getting back to telling. @sagaftra @sagaftrafound #SAGAFTRAstrike #SAGAFTRAstrong

Happy Father’s Day to my dad, who first showed me the stars, who encouraged me to always be myself, who raised me on the wisdom of ancient philosophers, who told me that all we can ever do is try our best, and who fully supported my early blazer & Ninja Turtle aesthetic.
Woo-trekking-hoo! Just 3 more weeks until Season 2. #StarTrek #StrangeNewWorlds #Mortegas
Starship pilot vest game strong. 🚀 I met so many unbelievable, inspiring, determined, and passionate people at the annual @exploremars Humans to Mars Summit in Washington, DC, but meeting Dr. Sian “Leo” Proctor, a real-life starship pilot, still has me beaming. I gave her a #Mortegas pin, courtesy of @openpike, and she gave me some of her (literally) out-of-this-world artwork. An astronaut, explorer, geoscientist, professor, and space artist, Dr. Proctor was also the mission pilot for SpaceX Inspiration4, the first all-civilian orbital mission. She showed me pictures she took of the Earth at night from space and I showed her…pictures I took of the clouds on my flight from NYC to DC. 😂 So much still to process about what I learned at the #HumansToMars conference, about what is possible, what is already underway, and what is going to take us all working together to finally make happen, but my main takeaway can be summed up by Dr. Proctor’s words: “When we solve for space, we solve for Earth.” Space travel is more than *just* space travel. It’s our future. 🖖 #LLAP
Let’s end Season 4 with another interview with a Series Regular, shall we? I’m so happy to have actress and Series Regular Melissa Navia on the podcast. I’ve known her for years as a working actor in NY, booking co-stars and guest stars in some of our favorite NY shows. During the pandemic, Melissa booked the dream gig, a Series Regular role of Lieutenant Erica Ortegas on the incredible Paramount show: Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. The second season idebuted on June 15th and has already been renewed for a third season. On the television side, Navia’s most recent credits include recurring on CBS’s Bull and AMC’s Dietland. She also recently guest starred on NBC’s New Amsterdam and Showtime’s Billions and Homeland. Available wherever you listen to podcasts!

4 more days! This was me on Star Trek Day, so very happy to be celebrating with three of our amazing writers – Davy Perez, Bill Wolkoff, and co-showrunner Henry Alonso Myers – who together with the rest of our writers’ room are at the heart of the success and Trek joy that is Strange New Worlds. ✨ 06.15.23 ✨ #StarTrek #StrangeNewWorlds
