Happy birthday to my favorite thoughtful guy. Love you, always, @BarackObama. 🥰
I will miss my friend, Tafari…the emptiness is hard. But I promise to stay strong, keep living, and honor your legacy in every way possible. Rest in peace, my brother.

Happy birthday, Mom! I would not be who I am without you, and I am grateful for you each and every day. ❤️
Today, some of the books that shaped my life — and the lives of so many others — are being challenged by people who disagree with certain ideas or perspectives. And librarians are on the front lines, fighting every day to make the widest possible range of viewpoints, opinions, and ideas available to everyone.
Michelle and I want to thank these librarians for their unwavering commitment to the freedom to read. I hope you’ll read my letter to them, and join me in reminding anyone who will listen — and even some people you think might not — that the free, robust exchange of ideas has always been at the heart of American democracy. Together, we can make that true for generations to come.
To learn how you can support librarians and defend the right to read, join the Unite Against Book Bans campaign led by the @AmericanLibraryAssociation at uniteagainstbookbans.org.

Happy birthday, Malia! I feel so lucky to be your mom and to be able to watch you become the wonderful young woman you are today. Love you so much! 💕
Tony Bennett was an iconic songwriter and entertainer who charmed generations of fans. He was also a good man—Michelle and I will always be honored that he performed at my inauguration. We’re thinking of his wife Susan, his kids, and everyone who is missing him today.

Michelle and I are heartbroken to hear about the passing of our friend Charles Ogletree. He was an advocate for social justice, an incredible professor, and a mentor to many – including us. Our thoughts are with his wife Pamela, his entire family, and everyone who knew and loved this remarkable man.
I’ve dedicated so much of my life to helping kids and families lead healthier lives. As First Lady, I built my Let’s Move! initiative to rally every sector of society toward this goal. While I’m proud of all we accomplished during those years at the White House, we’ve still got a long way to go until the entire food industry does right by our kids.
I’m proud to be a Co-Founder and Strategic Partner of @PLEZiNutrition, a public benefit company designed to make healthier drinks and snacks that taste really good. For @OprahDaily, I wrote about PLEZi Nutrition, our first product—a drink for kids ages 6 and up—and the impact we’re hoping to have across the industry. I hope you’ll read it at the link in my bio.
I know that a lot of you are frustrated with some of the Supreme Court’s recent decisions. I am, too.
But just being disappointed isn’t going to get us anywhere. We’ve got to remember that our elections — from the White House to the local courthouse — play a critical role in what becomes law. We elect a President that appoints Supreme Court justices and senators who confirm or reject them. And in many states and cities, we elect the judges who determine how we’re governed in our communities.
So even though it might not always feel like the judiciary reflects the kind of future we hope to see, the truth is, it’s up to us to make sure that it does.
So today, I hope you’ll take a second to double check your voter registration at weall.vote/check and make a pledge to vote in the next election.

I’m so proud of the talented @USWNT players representing Team USA at the World Cup!
As you’re cheering them on, there’s another way you can make your voice heard — by registering yourself to vote. Our vote is our voice, and one of the most powerful ways to use it is to cast a ballot in our upcoming elections. With every vote, we’re helping shape the kind of world we want to see.
So before the opening game kicks off, join @mrapinoe, @cdunn19, and @sunnysulli by checking your voter registration with @whenweallvote at weall.vote/soccer. Then, join me in rooting for @USWNT. Go Team USA! ⚽️
In Athens, the @GirlsOpportunityAlliance gathered some incredible leaders to talk about the work they are doing to uplift girls around the world. From running schools in rural villages to empowering girls through sports, these young people are leading the way in removing barriers for the next generation of women.
It’s always so inspiring to see people from different continents and communities come together to share a common purpose. That’s why I hope you’ll check out some highlights from the event — @BarackObama even sat down for a discussion with these changemakers. 🌍
In honor of #MalalaDay, we asked a few members of the @GirlsOpportunityAlliance from Namibia, India, Nepal, Guatemala, and Uganda to tell us why Malala inspires them—and I just love their responses. Thank you @Malala for all that you do for girls around the world! 💖
I’m thrilled to share our newest cohort of @ObamaFoundation Leaders with all of you.
The Leaders USA cohort is made up of 100 young changemakers who are tackling issues like gender equality, access to healthy food in schools, and more. Over the next six months, they will be taking part in workshops, leadership coaching, and community events — with the goal of expanding their network and deepening their leadership skills.
Congratulations to this year’s cohort! I can’t wait to hear more about their progress. You can read more about their inspiring work at the link in my bio.
