“Friendly Fire” is our final single before we put out the album. WE START TOUR WITH @boniver TMRW!!
This is the album artwork created by the goat @erictimothycarlson. While we were making the album @arsononly was certain that Eric would make the perfect art to accompany the album. Eric and I sat together for a week in Brooklyn, listened to the music, talked about intention in art, and he started building out this visual universe that consisted of symbols, tones, textures; the whole process was fascinating. We did a photoshoot with @ahmedklink, styled by @kwasikessie (cc @quinci) and Eric brought everything together in this gorgeous piece. I’m so deeply and truly in love with this album artwork.
I’ll talk more about Friendly Fire later today, but at it’s core it’s a song about the deep fear that can come with vulnerability. Massive love to the whole squad @arsononly, @alexepton, @ajabaum, @dealdrugger, @cbierden, @evanguymandude, @lazerbeak, my mom Latha Sriram and her SLGV choir, @sophiaeris, @carm_band, @love_burg, @huntleymiller, @velvet_negroni, Derrick Lee (RIP), Mark Nevers, Pete Finney, Will Chason, @defjam, @kobaltmusic. When Justin first hit me back in Feb about opening for this @boniver run, I knew immediately it would be special, but I can’t quite put into words the magic that has been these last 10 days. Learned so much, gained so much inspiration and perspective. Travelling through the country with my brothers in our tour bus was pure joy, performing in front of new audiences each night was magnetic. Each city (Madison, Missoula, Ogden, Boise and Bend) embraced us with such a deep warmth and love. Big big love to each and every one of y’all.
I posted up side stage and watched Bon Iver play every night; soaked up so much game.
The internet (& everything within it) is cool, a wonderful tool. But nothing will ever beat getting on stage with people you love, playing songs that emanate from deep within your soul, channelling the divine, and connecting with people through the most gorgeous energy that is music.
Deep gratitude to Justin and the whole @boniver crew for welcoming us with so much love and warmth. Endlessly inspired

On some days, you don’t have to summon the magic, it just enters the room on its own volition and grabs you. This was one of those day’s. @brendanlauer, @evanguymandude and I were at @arsononly’s studio and shot this live/duo version of The Hard Way for @recordingacademy Press Play. Whole day was magic, this take felt especially pure. (Had posted a vertical version of this before, but wanted to get the horizontal version up too)

Identity as a concept can be a strange one. The idea of self, what makes me who I am, what do we enter this world with? What’s borrowed?
For most of my life I’ve felt disconnected from the name my parents gave me, Sidharth.
Releasing this body of work into the universe on Friday will feel cathartic I’m sure. It also comes with some fear. More of an anticipation I think, the same feeling that comes with reclaiming something that lives deep within self.
