Boy, where has the time gone? To think that we’re already more than halfway through the year baffles me. So much has changed in the span of a year—from living in a new city, working on a different project, starting a TV and film production company with my wife, to going from a one-dog household to a two-dog household. I am grateful for all of the changes that have occurred because they’ve forced me to grow as an individual. One of the things I told myself last year was that I was going to relinquish control, or whatever control I THOUGHT I had over my life. I became so fixated on my long-term goals that I was inadvertently blocking myself off from all of the spontaneous blessings that God had in store for me. Don’t get me wrong. It’s healthy to have goals for yourself. They allow us to have an idea of which direction we should be heading in. Goals provide us with the discipline we need to stay on track. But as with most things in life, it’s all about finding balance, a perfect harmony. Aside from directing my second film towards the tail end of this year and our trip to Italy in September, I couldn’t tell you what the rest of the year has in store. The one thing I do know is that I’m open to it all—the good, the bad, and everything in between.

Got my ass handed to me this morning by these two. Ever since the pandemic, I’ve grown accustomed to training alone, but every now and then, I embrace the challenge and competitive spirit that comes with training alongside a partner.
