Cover with a lid, leaving a crack for steam to vent, shaking occasionally until the kernels begin to pop. 5. Once the popcorn begins popping in earnest, shake constantly. 6. When the popping slows to 1 kernel per second, remove and dump immediately into a large bowl. 7. Add the rendered bacon and peanuts, and toss to combine. 8. Serve immediately, or allow to cool to room temperature and store for up to 2 days in an airtight container.
