In 1987, an interviewer from Ebony / Jet Magazine told Michael that “Man In The Mirror” was his favorite song from the “Bad” album and Michael remarked: “It is my philosophy too. If you want to make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and then make a change. People don’t take a look at themselves honestly. It’s always the other guy’s fault or something. But you should change yourself.”
Tiktok user jay_sure shared how his friend, Ray Angelo, a groom made a grand entrance at his wedding along with the rest of his groomsmen, choreographed to Michael’s “You Rock My World.” Share your dance set to Michael’s official sounds with the tag #MyMJMoves
Annie Zaleski’s Salon Magazine review of “Bad”, written for the album’s 25th anniversary, asserts that Michael beats “Thriller” by “bravely baring his soul and taking new risks.” She also writes that “More impressive, Jackson ended up writing and composing nine of the 11 songs on ‘Bad’ by himself, a staggering figure when compared to today’s pop-music-by-committee culture. As a result, ‘Bad’ gave the notoriously reticent Jackson a chance to assert himself as a songwriter with mature desires. If ‘Thriller’ made him a global phenomenon, ‘Bad’ made him an adult.” “Bad” was released on this date in 1987, a perfect time to enjoy the album again – hit the link in stories to listen now.
On this date in 1992, Michael performed his fifth of five Dangerous Tour shows at the UK’s Wembley Stadium. Michael’s departure from the stage at the end of the show is assisted by a jet pack.

RIP Jerry Moss, the “M” in A & M Records. Inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Moss and Herb Alpert founded one of music’s most prolific independent record labels. It was in the A &M Studios in Los Angeles that Michael and other top artists recorded the historic “We Are The World.” In later years Moss gave back to his community through vast philanthropic initiatives, generously donating to preserve and advance the arts while creating student scholarships to develop the next generation of artists. He will be sorely missed.
Michael discussed the boundaries he had to set in the late 70s in the midst of personal and professional changes: “I had always shouldered a lot of responsibility, but it suddenly seemed that everyone wanted a piece of me. There wasn’t that much to go around, and I needed to be responsible to myself. I had to take stock of my life and figure out what people wanted from me and to whom I was going to give wholly.”
