This new streaming business model that has (impetuously and without any long-term consideration) transformed the entire industry over the last 5 years, has completely screwed over working class creatives in Hollywood in all kinds of ways – more draconian contracts, little to no residuals, and less writers room hires. For instance: remember the 57 BILLION MINUTES of The Office viewed on Netflix in 2020? Our “residuals” for that historic run were beyond pathetic.
