Yo NE4LIFERS, Today, September 9, 2023 is a monumental day in the history of New Edition! 40 years y’all… I want each and everyone of you to feel the love, gratitude, appreciation, thankfulness, prayers, support, positivity and humble sentiments from me for everything you’ve done for my family. From the day my Uncle Brooke brought me to the Brown Family double apartment in Orchard Park Projects, him, Bobby, Ralph, Mike, Rick and our co manager at the time Travis, welcomed me in with open arms. From that point on, we continued to put in the tireless work it took for us to be prepared for our opportunity when it arrived in 1983. Maurice Starr made sure we had the music, my uncle Brooke made sure we had the name, artist developement, stage presence and everything else to sustain in an industry that will chew you up and spit you out. But, because of GOD’s blessings, our dedication to our gifts and talents, and your support, we’ve been able to stand the test of time. And, what tops it off is we are all alive to smell them roses. This thing of ours is not perfect to say the least. We’ve gone through so many different phases from 5 members to 4, Bobby solo, the Heartbreak 5, Ralph and Johnny solo, Bell Biv DeVoe, All Six, 4 again, Heads of State, RBRM and so on… But, that’s what makes our group so special, each one of us has our own identity and that’s what adds extra value and depth to the whole and I will never take what we have for granted! Again, to our NE4LIFERS and everyone that’s ever done something to help us elevate, grow and be in a position to impact so many lives in different ways, I say THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!! On top of that, they inspired the next generation of dancers because of their energy, precision, innovative choreography, power, timing, personality, fashion and so much more! Isaiah 26:4 Developing Trust How many times have we allowed trying situations that come our way to frustrate us and get us needlessly upset? How many years of our lives have we spent saying, “Oh, I’m believing God. I’m trusting God,” when in reality, we are worrying, talking negatively, and trying to figure everything out on our own? Sometimes we think we are trusting God just because we are saying the words, but inside we are anxious and panicky. It is good that we are taking the initial steps to trust God, but we must also realize we can still grow in trust. Trusting God is more than just words—it’s words, attitudes, and actions. Trust and confidence are built up over a period of time. It usually takes some time to overcome an ingrained habit of worry, anxiety, or fear. That is why it is so important to “hang in there” with God. Don’t quit and give up, because you gain experience and spiritual strength as you go through situations. Each time you become a little stronger than you were the last time. Sooner or later, if you don’t give up, you will find yourself in a place of complete rest, peace and trust in God. If you are in a time of trial, realize that worry is completely useless, and use the time to build your trust in God. Good Morning Family & Friends, New Day, New Week Tuesday Sending Hugs I pray that the new week is filled with Good News, Blessings, Growth, New Opportunities, Healing and Love. “For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.” 1 Corinthians 16:9 The Greater the Opposition, the Greater the Opportunity Every time God puts a fresh new idea in our hearts or gives us a dream, vision or new challenge for our lives, the enemy will be there to oppose us. God constantly calls us to new levels. Some seem big and important; others seem relatively small or insignificant. Whatever the case, when we reach a new level with God, we will face a new level of opposition from our enemy, the devil. Along with opposition, however, comes opportunity, but God is always with us, and we have no need to fear. Some things may seem too great for us, but nothing is impossible with God. He is not surprised or frightened by anything, and with Him, we can accomplish any challenge set before us. If you are determined to reach the new levels God is calling you to, then don’t give up in the face of opposition. Instead, realize that the greater the opposition, the greater the opportunity in front of you. Be courageous, and draw boldness and courage from the Holy Spirit, for He is always with you. Prayer: God, don’t let me falter in the face of opposition. I know that You have great plans for me and great opposition only means a greater opportunity.
