How to play “Overwhelmed” intro🌀🎸 The intro for the @brothers.page arrangement of “Overwhelmed” = palm muted alternate picked arpeggios of the verse chord progression. This is the mastered audio of the released track in which you will also hear a lower guitar chord layer that is not included in this tab but represented by the chords written above it. I’m also going to tab those chords out in a future reel for you because they are played in some of my favorite Drop D voicings.🎼🤌🏼 Playing this part cleanly at this speed (87 BPM) requires a fair amount of cross string alternate picking experience. It’s fun watching ppl’s reactions😎 Been exploring funk rock guitar in the park🎸🌳 It’s a style I’ve never really dove into so it’s been interesting finding how to dig in & compositionally make it my own enough to catch a vibe with it.🧘🏻💥 I tuned my electric guitar to DADGAD for this which I usually only do on acoustic, this makes for some interesting chord voicings that I normally wouldn’t have found.🪬 What do you think of this style?📻👁🐬

I love taking a guitar riff & with chill beatboxing identifying which notes should be kicks (bh), which which should be snares (kh), and which should be hi hats (t). 🎸🧘🏻🥁 Almost like programming a drum machine, there’s lots of different potential variations that can change the feel & energy of the riff. 🧬🎼 It’s also very satisfying to musically sync the hands and mouth together as one unit can make a cool organic drop section in a song arrangement 🙏🏼
Have been loving jamming my @lavamusicofficial guitar in Central Park. Here I looped backing chords to a beat, all playing back from within the guitar, then explored solo ideas over the chords. This made a nice warm vibe that brought about so many uplifting conversations & interactions throughout the day. It was a great reminder for me of how important it is to take your favorite instrument to the park when the sun comes out. 🌬🎶☀️
