Aché Abrahams Instagram – I’m so happy to announce that the La Seiva village homework centre has officially reopened its doors to the children of our community🥳! It is such an honour to be part of this mission to support our children and their aspirations. Every child deserves an equal opportunity for a bright future! My grandfather, Bartholomew Selvon, was greatly involved in the original opening of this homework centre many years ago and today we have continued what he started. He was a teacher who believed in the importance of education as a powerful tool to change the lives of young people in our country. He knew how it could positively impact the trajectory of one’s life from uncertainty to success. Grandpa, we did it!🩷 I know you’re smiling down looking at our village and proud to see the progress we have made. @missworld has made it possible for me to give back to my community and I will forever be grateful. Thank you to the Touch of Joy foundation who has agreed to partner with my beauty with a purpose project @invisiblescarsproject_mwtt to ensure our children have the support they need to focus on their academic development. I’m especially excited about the safe space corner where we can connect children and adults in need to appropriate mental health resources and services which are often overlooked in underserved communities. Good mental health is a fundamental human right and my goal is to create hope for those who may not see the light. We cannot strive for a bright future if we are not in a good space mentally, emotionally and even spiritually. You cannot win if you’re not right within! 🙏🏽 thank you to my beautiful community, La Seiva Village for your dedication, it wasn’t an easy job but we got there in the end!
