Bhanushree Mehra Instagram – Every time I travel to a new place, the one thing I always look for are nature trails, short hikes & treks. I have always enjoyed going on long walks & that’s actually a very important part of any vacation that I go on. Earlier this year i did a short hike with @justwravel from Chopta to Chandrashila summit in Uttarakhand which covers a distance of about 6Kms & takes around 8 hours going & coming back, depending upon your pace. It’s one of the most popular treks of Uttarakhand & the trail is well marked & paved mostly through out. The entire route is truly beautiful & takes you through vast meadows, dense forests & the famous Tungnath temple which is the highest Shiva temple in the world. Chandrashila ( 13,000 ft above sea level) is the highest vantage point of the trek & provides un obstructed views of some major Himalayan peaks like Nanda Devi, Kedar peak & Trishul. This really was a lovely experience and I’m glad I could reach all the way to the top with ease.
