Thiago was worth every little bit of my journey 🥰 I hope the show helped some of you along with your pregnancy too and most importantly, raised some awareness about VBACs and the different options and choices in labour. I’m 8 weeks PP tomorrow and yesterday I officially started back in the gym! I’m doing the @hatch_athletic 12 week PP program so it’s good to have some structure and routine (albeit still surrounded by kids or dogs as you can see) 😂 the above is snippets from both yesterday and today. Todays the one with the baggy pants and big knickers as Aunt flow arrived again this morn. My first one since being pregnant. Another sign that things are starting to return to normal 😃
I’ve no shame in saying I found these (for me) usually simple exercises a challenge. And it’s expected! My second pregnancy & 2nd C section have taken its toll on me physically, but mentally I’m feeling fantastic and strong and motivated! I had a 6cm (now 5cm) gap from diastasis recti and you can see my tummy is slightly coning in certain movements meaning I need to really focus on engagement on my abdominals during the exercise. I had no issues with this after Mia, but this time my tummy feels weaker. Again though, it’s expected so I’m going with it. I have one more gym sesh this week, 3 cardio days which will be my stairmaster or bike and a rest day. It’ll be harder to juggle with two children, school runs, dog walks & Thiago BUT harder doesn’t mean it’s impossible. I take inspiration from all the mums juggling work, kids, schools etc… and I always remind myself, some people have 3 kids and 3 dogs so that would be harder 🤣 I love a challenge though, especially against myself so bring it on! 💪🏼😎

So after a trip to a dog dermatologist today and various swabs, blood tests and skin tests, it seems Norman has atopic dermatitis. Basically his immune system overreacts to airborne allergens and makes everything itch and become inflamed. He gets regular ear infections, anal gland infections and swollen red pads. He was born with it and it’s apparently very common in his breed (he’s a sproodle) so I’m just glad it’s nothing I’ve done the last almost 12 years. Anything as little as dust mites, certain ingredients in foods, or skin contact with certain substances will set it off 🤦🏼♀️
It’s not curable but it’s treatable in that he’ll be loads more comfortable and (hopefully) back to his old happy self 😃
It’s just going to take a lot of work treatment wise. We’ve got 3 wks of twice weekly baths, daily dry foam soaks, 2 lots of ear drops, and 2 lots of tablets before we head back for appointment number 2.
I’ve had loads of DMs with suggestions for him and we’ve tried all of them. Herbal ones, monthly injections, certain foods, tablets and drops, certain shampoos etc… and they all work, but only for a few months then he has another flare up. The good thing is his blood tests are all clear. So his kidneys, liver & red and white blood count are spot on which is a relief! It’ll take a while and on top of Mia starting school, looking after Thiago and gorks working away it’s the last thing I need 🤦🏼♀️😂 BUT we’ll get there. I’ll make it work because I want all of my “babies” to be comfortable & happy, especially as they get older ❤️ 🐶
