When we adopted Eddie from @muchloveanimalrescue we saw a list of dogs on their website. Next to the photos it said things like “This dog wants to be your only dog,” or “This dog is looking for an adult home.” Next to Eddie’s picture it said, “ As far as we can tell this is pretty much a perfect dog.” They were right. One Native Hawaiian resident equated the devastation in Lahaina Town to losing a family member, an Elder.
People are gone forever and many places too.
And….LahainaStrong is a saying for a reason.
The people of Lahaina Town and the surrounding areas will never get what they had back but they will rebuild. In the meantime, there needs to be diapers and food on the table and shelter for so many.
WE. CAN. HELP.
In my bio are links to the following organizations (scroll down) that I know will be helpful. In this case, $10 dollars really does matter. It’s a package of diapers. Please give what you can and a tiny bit more. People are in deep need right now.

Maui Food Bank: I know first-hand @mauifoodbank has reliably collected and distributed food in Maui to those in need. They partner with Maui VOAD and the Feeding America Food Bank Network.
The Salvation Army: The Salvation Army is actively providing food and resources to evacuees affected by the Hawaii wildfires. @salvationarmyus
American Red Cross of Hawaii: The Red Cross is offering shelter, comfort and assistance to those affected. @hawaiiredcross
Maui Humane Society: Humans and animals are displaced. They urgently need support. @mauihumanesociety
GO FUND ME: @slatertrout grew up on Maui’s Westside. He and his family are dear to me. Many of his friends and family have lost their home. He is boots-on-the-ground. Slater is committed to raising money to distribute directly to his neighbors. He promises (and I have no doubt) to “…do my best to divide the funds evenly among the families most affected.” 🙏🏽🌈❤️

This strike is about all of us but mostly the talented, hard-working members who need an increase in pay and financial recognition of how the business has changed. For most members this is not about getting rich. This is about getting health insurance, food, buying a Christmas gift for their kid.
I’ve been unspeakably LUCKY. Most artists want to do what they’re good at and survive. We stand with them.
