Helen Hunt Instagram – WE CAN HELP

One Native Hawaiian resident equated the devastation in Lahaina Town to losing a family member, an Elder.

People are gone forever and many places too.

And….LahainaStrong is a saying for a reason.

The people of Lahaina Town and the surrounding areas will never get what they had back but they will rebuild. In the meantime, there needs to be diapers and food on the table and shelter for so many.

WE. CAN.  HELP.

In my bio are links to the following organizations (scroll down) that I know will be helpful. In this case, $10 dollars really does matter. It’s a package of diapers. Please give what you can and a tiny bit more. People are in deep need right now.

Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement: @hawaiiancouncil In partnership with Alaka’ina Foundation Family of Companies and Kako’o, CNHA is MATCHING up to $100,000 in community donations for families impacted by the wildfires on Maui.

Maui Food Bank: I know first-hand @mauifoodbank has reliably collected and distributed food in Maui to those in need. They partner with Maui VOAD and the Feeding America Food Bank Network.

The Salvation Army: The Salvation Army is actively providing food and resources to evacuees affected by the Hawaii wildfires. @salvationarmyus

American Red Cross of Hawaii: The Red Cross is offering shelter, comfort and assistance to those affected. @hawaiiredcross

Maui Humane Society: Humans and animals are displaced. They urgently need support. @mauihumanesociety

GO FUND ME: @slatertrout grew up on Maui’s Westside.  He and his family are dear to me. Many of his friends and family have lost their home. He is boots-on-the-ground. Slater is committed to raising money to distribute directly to his neighbors. He promises (and I have no doubt) to “…do my best to divide the funds evenly among the families most affected.” 🙏🏽🌈❤️
