This is a story about how Amelie unintentionally tricked me into thinking I am older than I actually am:
So on some special days or anniversaries, Frankfurt pulls out their older Trams from around the 1950s-1970s for commuters to experience. If you’re lucky, you get to ride them on your weekend commute. Amelie and I came from the city last Saturday and on our way home we got to ride one of those Trams. Our convo went like this:
Me: How do you like the old school train?
Amelie: Its alright. Do you feel like you’re old school again in this train?
Me: Well kinda, its a nice experience to get to ride them. What about you?
Amelie: NO. Because I don’t know how it feels to be old school.
I needed a minute to process and then answered – “You’re right. That makes a lot of sense.”
Two days after I sit here looking at the photos and realize, I AM NOT THAT OLD as well. 💀
I never got to ride these trains also and I only remember the more modern models too. 🤣Although I must admit I feel like I belong to a completely different era than the one I was born into and I love things from the 50s-70s. 👵🏻

Its been exactly two years since I packed our bags in the middle of a worldwide pandemic and left everything behind. Two of the hardest years of my life. I always look back on the day we arrived with two luggages of “essentials”. The apartment was empty except for some kitchenware to cook, a mattress and beddings to sleep on, and a small garden set we ate on for the remaining days of the summer. I remember crying because I cut myself while building Amelie’s closet, but I wasn’t crying because of pain, I was crying out of sheer exhaustion and realizing I didn’t even have a band aid for my cuts. I felt helpless and I started doubting my decisions. The past two years weren’t easy, we’re still adjusting, still building, still putting things together, still learning, still figuring things out. But in those two years, I’ve grown so much in character, as a person, as a woman, as a mother, as a friend, and a lot more. I don’t regret this move, I’m still struggling, but after two years I can say things slowly feel like home again. Slow and steady definitely wins the race. 🩵
Thankful to Amelie for also being so resilient, trusting me 100% even tho I know its hard for her too. And thankful to those who are continuously supporting us, old and new friends, you know who you are. 🙏🏼
Sun‘s out, Mom‘s out. 😉

Hope most of you here finish reading the captions. 🤭🤪 #MaritesWasWaving
Last day of summer over here and I can’t help but think about what’s happening again back home in the Philippines. 🇵🇭 Stay safe and stay indoors everyone, specially those near the most affected areas. Praying for the situation to literally calm down soon. 🫣🙏🏼🌋
Celebrating with some 🍨 🥳
Had a one on one talk with Amelie’s new class teacher last week and I left the school with tears and a big smile on my face. The teacher had nothing but praises for Amelie and he was surprised to find out that she’s been here for less than two years, impressed with how well she speaks german already and that she’s fluent in three languages at such a young age.
To be honest I went in with a bunch of worries…maybe she’ll have to repeat 2nd grade because of her german, maybe she’ll have to do tutoring, maybe she’s too quiet in class and so on. Only to be told she’s actually thriving, all is well, no extra classes needed, and that I should continue whatever it is that I’m doing. 😭🥲
Amelie didn’t go to preschool or Kindergarten just like momma, looking back, it was probably a bit risky to go against the norm but I just followed my instincts with this one and I have no regrets. I’m never gonna be a perfect parent, but my heart perfectly knows my child. ❤️🥹

Ear cuffs remind me of a millennials relationship trauma:
When you want a piercing but are too scared to go for it again because you took that risk before, endured the pain, tried to heal the wound, only for it to get infected and not work out. So now you walk around with two tiny scars on your earlobe, which although already healed and ready to get pierced again you’ll take it slow and wear ear cuffs for now as if it will guarantee that your next attempt at getting pierced won’t end in complete disappointment. 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for coming to my TED Talk 🤭🤣
@isabellacollectionsph absolutely love your pieces. ✨

Plunging into May like…💦
Little snippets from our stay in @vivereazure where Amelie and I had so much fun. The pool was her favorite because it was not heavily chlorinated so she was swimming without her goggles. 👍🏻 Definitely family friendly. ☺️
Happy Labor Day everyone!!!
Thanks for the inspo @jingersy

This trend but make it MOTHERHOOD because as crazy and as exhausting this ride can get, it deserves to be romanticized too. 👩👧
Happy Mother’s Day to all the Momma’s who never stop mothering even when they’re sick or had a long day at work. You are extraordinary. 😍
And to the momma’s who are like me today and had to buy themselves flowers…Its okay!!! 🫶 Seriously tho, I see you…you are worthy, you are precious, you are enough, you are most certainly not alone and one day you will understand why God made you wait. Its alright, all is well today. 💐 #RaisingAmelie #MomLife #MothersDay2023
The „Confusione“ and the „Emozioni“ of this friendship is like riding a rollercoaster ride that goes underground in complete darkness only to catapult you into the sky then free fall you into the ocean. 🤪😩🥰🥹😏😕😳😨😡😑 #KAGULO #lovehatebutmostlylove

I got the #NationalDaughtersDay Memo a bit too late but here’s a cute “from my stories” reel which I think is awesome for not being curated and therefore makes it raw and real. 😉
Amelie, thank you for bringing so much color into my life, your energy and vitality is contagious to the point of Momma’s exhaustion but I wouldn’t have it any other way. 😅😂 I love you 3000, beyond the moon and back, its a privilege that God picked me to be your Mom and raise you in this lifetime. 😍 #MomLife #RaisingAmelie
