Stephen Adly Guirgis’s Our Lady of 121st Street rocked my world and this man right here tore the roof off with THAT monologue. Folks blessed enough to have seen that truth, that fire onstage…. It’s the type of performance that’ll change your life. It certainly did mine as he made my artistic bar hang out around the stars. So blessed to have had this man lay hands on my own work. He was such a father figure to everyone in the cast. The stage is ephemeral, transient and I’m so deeply grateful that his talent will forever be immortalized in film and tv. There is the work and there is the man. What a gift God gave us with both.
