(Very Into 🎃 Pumpkin), but I am also Team Apple 🍎 & I feel strongly that back-to-school 🏫 apples 🍏 deserve to have a moment! 🚌 before we get all Halloween! So, I made this apple 🍎 wreath to hang in my kitchen window. Are you #TeamApple?! Supply list: 🧁 Package of red cupcake liners ⭕️ Foam wreath form 🧷 Push pins 🍏 Green card stock 🍢 Wooden scewer 🤎 Brown marker How to: 🍎STEP 1: FOLD cupcake liner in half. CUT out center; then CUT to break the circle, creating a strip. REPEAT until you have about 40 strips. 🍎STEP 2: WRAP a strip firmly around wreath form; SECURE with a push pin. REPEAT keeping strands taught until form is covered. 🍎 STEP 3: CUT a kabob skewer for the stem. COLOR with a brown marker. PUSH into the wreath form. CUT a leaf 🍃 out of card stock & PIN to form. Murphy Instagram – Haters gonna hate: Going viral with this dance 💃 video gave me a wake-up call ☎️ I share a lot here on IG, but I wasn’t really prepared for millions of “new friends” to watch, like and comment on my questionable dance moves. 🪩 No arguments here: I’m more Elaine from Seinfeld than Beyoncé back-up dancer. Even though there were literally thousands of positive, encouraging, happy comments, I found myself fixated on hateful garbage like this: “So cringe to watch these old, wrinkled women try to become influencers like young women. Clear case of Histrionic personality disorder.” I couldn’t see YOU, my amazing supporters cheering me on. All I could see was “cringe,” “old wrinkled woman,” “personality disorder.” It was time to reach into my Fully Charged toolkit (and maybe book an appointment with @face_aesthetic_artistry 🤣) Here’s the not-so-stinking thinking that helped me get over it: 🤕 Own the Ouch: Yup, I was affected by the nasties and that’s OK. Acknowledging those feelings without judgement is the first step. 🚨Play Empathy Police: Cringe? Hmm…Who over the age of 13 uses that word?! GOTCHA: This is actually a teenager threatened by my unabashed grown-up confidence. She’s longing for her own Nora days when she could dance like no one was watching. Now I just feel sorry for this poor kid and all of the other energy vampires with nothing better to do than spew hate. They need hugs and dance parties. 💡Learn from the Situation: I totally had to Google Histrionic Personality Disorder. Thanks to this hater, I now know that it’s one of a group of conditions called “Cluster B” or “dramatic” personality disorders characterized by intense, unstable emotions and distorted self-images. #knowledgeispower 😜 📵And finally, MUTE, BLOCK, DELETE… You have a right and an obligation to protect your energy on social media and in real life.
