Kerry’s little brother passed away two days ago. It’s so unexpected and heartbreaking. We’ve been processing and dealing with all the emotions. It’s been comforting to work on this art wall. Finding art, art from friends and new friends, art from closets, and trying to make it all work together. Being sad, feeling peace, focusing on making our space feel like a home, hugging our family, comforting Kerry, taking care of life stuff and back to sadness. It’s not done yet… the wall too.
You probably don’t want to watch this. But saying goodbye to Kerry’s brother Chad was something I wanted to document. It was a weekend full of emotions. A lot of heartbreaking moments. But also so much love and peace. I’ve never been to a funeral that had more laughs. Chad would’ve loved that his stories were told, from yelling “suck it” to a group of Decatur fans when, at 12, he sunk a half court shot to win disneyland tickets, his love of animals, his “passionate” loyalty, his love of his nieces and nephews, and his love of Dick’s (the hamburger chain). I’m sure he chuckled when “Chad loved Dick’s” (said multiple times 😏) and a list of his favorite songs, including “I’m in love with a striper” were mentioned in the chapel. He will be missed, and all his inside jokes, and nicknames will live on. ❤️

This started out a very hard week. Making a movie is not for the weak. We’re location scouting, having conference calls, building a team, getting to know Louisville, and having highs and lows while doing it.
