Over the last year, I’ve donated $365,000.00, $1k a day, to different non-profit organizations working to create a better, kinder world. It’s not hard to look back on the last couple of years and see a lot of darkness, but this project gave me an opportunity to reach out every day and connect with people that were working through the challenges to create opportunities, protect the vulnerable and provide healing to the individuals, communities and ecosystems in need of care. It’s been an inspiring and life changing experience. I plan to continue documenting donations I make here, as well as sharing about some of the organizations I’ve connected with, but I’m also going to be sharing experiences from tour and other ridiculous things that I find amusing or interesting (aka, normal instagram crap). Tonight I’ll be on stage at the @amas, but my thoughts will be with the LGBTQIA community in Colorado Springs and all over the world. It’s time to put an end to anti-trans legislation and rhetoric designed to fan the flames of hatred. It’s time to embrace LGBTQ people and love and appreciate them. They are our friends, they are our family, they are us.

Only 3% of the engineers producing the music/podcasts/audio that we all hear every day are women/gender-expansive. The music we listen to is an expression of our identity and the people recording those sounds should reflect the diversity of the listening audience.
