I’m notoriously bad at stopping and smelling the roses so I’m putting this here to remind myself. This will be my final post for 2023 so I can go away to work on finishing orchestration and credit sequence for ‘What If The Future Never Happened?’. I’m shutting my socials down, putting my phone in a drawer and getting back to work. FutureNever was the most gratifying creative experience of my career, it was gratifying because of YOU all. I’ve never felt more connected to the people who have supported the podcast, the album and the exhibition. ‘What If The Future Never Happened?’ is coming in early 2024, I’m disappearing into the studio now to finalise the orchestration. In pretty big personal news, I’ve just signed the most important songwriting deal of my career with BMG, including all of my songs from ‘Frogstomp’ to ‘FutureNever’ and everything in between. The team @bmgausnz also just came up to my house and presented me with this wild plaque celebrating FutureNever being announced as ARIA’s highest selling new Australian Album of 2022, spending 7 weeks in the Top 10 (and 2 weeks at #11 😂) and going #1 twice. I don’t really hang plaques in my house but I’m hanging this one in my living room because it’s a reminder of the love from you all and it means more than you’ll ever know. It also lights up. Although it’s a solo album, FutureNever had many collaborative elements and I’ve been sharing the @aria_official trophies presented to my dear friends who helped create FN. Thank you to @eddiezammit @allaboutgraphics BMG and @rialtomelbourne – because in mind blowing news ‘Past, Present and FutureNever’ has won 2 awards at the FESPA’s in Munich @fespagram – beating out the FIFA World Cup for the coveted ‘Best In Show’ Award. Thank you also to @spotifyaunz for this epic plaque commemorating the global success of ‘Who Is Daniel Johns?’. Thank you to the @australianpodcastawards for the ‘Spotlight Award’. Thank you to @ausindies for awarding FutureNever Best Pop Album in 2023. I’m loving being a truly independent artist making everything on my own terms. Love you, I’ll find you in the NeverAfter 💕

A literal diorama where people can come from anywhere and suspend themselves for a moment in a space where music, art and pop culture intertwine. The response to the experience has been overwhelming and I’m so thankful that people believe in this as much as we do. For the Victorians who have taken me on as an adopted son I love you, for those who are travelling interstate and internationally (😮) to see it, I can’t thank you enough for the support. It’s beyond anything I expected. Even though I’ve done 3 interviews in the last few months it feels a bit like I’ve done 300, for this reason I’m saving the final episode of ‘Inside The Mind of Daniel Johns’ until I feel I’m ready. The beauty of doing things my own way this time is I can make judgement calls like this when I feel it necessary. Episode 3 is all about the art and the music, I’ve been told there’s a bit of tabloid clutter at the moment so I don’t want to drop it in amongst all that. Wash away your teenage angst with FROGWASH 🐸🧼 Inside ‘Past, Present & FutureNever’ we’ve built an interactive laundromat from the future called ‘Sud City’. This laundromat features prominently in the forthcoming Featurette ‘What If The Future Never Happened?’. People can experience the future of laundry by interacting with bespoke custom built Splash Quings made by hand by the legends @fingerscrossed_creative while perusing a backdrop of vintage shirts and posters amassed from years of touring from 1994. I’ve always had a fascination with laundromats, they were a place of normality and renewal while touring. This concept has followed me through the FutureNever from an impromptu photoshoot with @ebflow at @barrattslaundry (shout out to the Space Jam pinball) during COVID right through to packaging deluxe exhibition tickets in these collectible boxes with @dizzylittledotty I’ve been told that this first run of FrogWash boxes are set to sell out in a couple of weeks and we are working on a new box to come with some special freaky surprises. #nobodyknowsimanamphibian

A number of you spotted a heavily guarded, armoured vehicle out the front of Past, Present & FutureNever on Collins St this morning and asked if everything was ok. While it was hoped this delivery wouldn’t be seen, in the interest of transparency I will inform you that we received a highly sensitive delivery of a new product. I’ve been in a research and development phase for a product launch via my new corporate entity NeverCorp™️. Distribution will be handled via @radiovelvet both in store and online. I can’t tell you much more at this stage but we will be looking to roll out a pre-order phase for the secret product dubbed ‘Project Invisible’ at some stage next week and we will be looking for early-adopters. Some big news to share today. Firstly, I’m delighted to let you know that all FutureNever vinyl ordered via FutureNever.Art (excluding FreakNever and Futurama deluxe variants more news on those shortly) will start shipping from October 7th.
