As a parent, everyday of your life with your child, is about preparing them to leave you and prepare them for the matriculation of life. This week was both a celebration and a mourning. My heart is aching…Because while my wife @sallirichwhit and I have worked extremely hard to prepare her for this moment in life, it never prepares our hearts. While I’m celebrating that Parker is coming into her self and her womanhood, I’m also grieving over the the fact that she no longer my child. She’s my daughter! So mourning the loss of my child finds my heart extremely heavy. I trust that we have prepared her properly. We just didn’t know that we wouldn’t be prepared for the heart ache. @spelman_college you got a great one who will become greater under your tutelage.
You can’t always agree with what some people say, but I whole heartedly agree with @therealmoworldwide on this. THAT’S NOT OUR BUSINESS!!!!! Even if THEY choose to talk about their trials and tribulations, it doesn’t mean that WE have to participate. It just doesn’t. I read books that help me address key areas of my life that I want to improve. I’m passionate about things that help other people. So much so that I wrote a book that helps people do just that. So while I won’t be purchasing a copy of Jada’s book, she and Will have my undying support as a resource of information and instruction and a safe place to vent. Until they make that decision, this is not my business. Over and OUT!!!!!

This is a simple one. MEN, we have to love our wives! LISTEN, to them. Then, LISTEN to them again…then when you’ve done that…LISTEN some more!!!!! Make SURE your woman is HEARD!!!!!! After you HEAR her, HUG her! Once you HUG her, HOLD her. Let her know she’s in safe and secure hands. Lastly, just as we need her to submit to our direction, we need to submit to her direction as well. Remember, this is a PARTNERSHIP! Which means this works BOTH ways or it WON’T work! She NEEDS your love. Ans she earned your love the day you decided to commit to her. LADIES, men are the simplest of creatures to be in relationship with. All we truly need is RESPECT. It’s at the center of our peace! Without it, it’s like we’re being starved. It’s the cheering and applause of our hearts that we need to keep going into battle OUTSIDE the home. And it is further, the fuel we need to be dedicated to service INSIDE the home. Without respect you are killing your man and your relationship. Your husband NEEDS your respect. And he EARNED your respect the day he decided to commit to YOU fully. His dedication to YOU and your FAMILY, on a daily basis, is worthy of enough respect to be shown. Respect him by speaking with a soft tone. Respect him by having sex with him (you are his only source for it) Respect him by considering him- tour are a representation of HIM. The easiest way for the world to HURT him is through YOU!!! Lastly, CAN’T show him respect (for whatever reason) then you need to LEAVE that relationship AMICABLY. Because without that respect in place it will eventually end on its own! And often will end TRAGICALLY!!!!! Tag your partner and someone who needs to hear this. #RelationshipGoals

My God given gifts, that I have intentionally further developed, are equivalent to this violinist. I know this because I have seen the effects that it has on people. The only difference is I know where I stand at all times. It is frustrating but I press on because I know my life’s purpose and I actively seek the spaces where my gifts are valued and appreciated. I have so much to give and subsequently, I DO!!!!! You have some also…use your gifts but don’t allow yourself to be used or overlooked in an environment that doesn’t see you.
I made a post when my son @drewhitfield_ beat me for the first time and too many people said, “I know that must be tough for you”. None of them were fathers!!!! As a father, the whole point of my participation in his life is to make sure that he is BETTER than me! At everything!!!! I facilitated the growth that enabled him to beat me. It’s my job!!! As a golfer, my goal is to beat my buddies. As a father, my goal is to grow my son. In order for him to beat ME!!! No feeling is greater for a father when that happens. Again, it means that I’m doing my job!!!!
