40 years ago today July 27 ,1983 👑 @madonna released her debut album.. 6 months later she was on American Bandstand where Dick Clark asked her what her hopes are for 1984 and beyond. A very confident Madonna answers: “To rule the world”.. and that she has 👏🏽👏🏽 Shes definitely ruled my world.. 7 years after she did that interview , I was fortunate while still a teenager to get an invite to the Madonna train thanks to the legendary Freddy DeMann.. 32 years later Im still on it.. On some days that steady train can turn into a rocket shooting up to the stars at full blast, you need to hold on tight!! At other times it can be a rollercoaster with ups and downs, twists and turns, you need to hold on even tighter!!! No matter the transportation, there is never ever a dull moment on the Madonna journey.. Im grateful to my Lucky Star: Madonna ❤️💛💚 for the ride of the lifetime. Id also like to congratulate @saramariezam for her wisdom, partnership and her hard work over the years. Again to Freddy without him none of it would have been possible. To the incredible @lizrosenberg44 for overseeing madonna press with armor on for decades!! To Angela Becker who worked with me on my first years of madonna management. To the team at @warnerrecords for 40 years of care and support!! Especially our beloved seymour stein who signed madonna when michael rosenblatt played him the music. To all the dj’s that played and continue to play madonnas songs. THANK YOU!!! you have good taste 🙏🏽 . To the radio stations around the world that supported and support. To Madonna TV, I mean MTV for its push back when they were the most impactful way to share music. To the talented collaborators/songwriters and producers. For the video directors, choreographers, hair/makeup that bring the music to life visually. To the art directors that made album art and promotion iconic in image. To the performers / show collaborators that brought the music to the people Live. From fashion designers/ stylists that collaborated on the reinvention of Madonnas looks. I’ve attached a video and photo of one of those kids, Shani Louk taken right before she was brutally killed. Shani’s body was seen in the back of a pick-up truck driven by terrorists She was desecrated and her naked body paraded around in Gaza for the whole world to see what powerful men they are. Her mother has pleaded publicly to please have her daughters body sent back to her in Germany. We will remember you Shani for who you truly were and all the other innocent kids: as Peaceful and full of light.. “Stars of david, they took your life, but they could not take your pride” – U2
Yesterday I posted a video of Noa being kidnapped. Her crime? Being Israeli. She was at a PEACE music festival. Yes PEACE. That video was taken down by instagram. And so was the video of another Israeli girl being kidnapped. It absolutely did not go against community guidelines. I have reposted it now along with other videos. The same people/mostly bots funded by Iran that reported my “infringement” harassed me all day yesterday as I was grieving, leaving the most horrendous comments on my post in reaction to my simply showing two videos of Israeli girls being kidnapped.. In the past I have initiated and organized a fundraiser for my Muslim brothers and sisters who were brutally murdered in New Zealand by a white supremacist. I’ve stood up for our courageous sisters, the women of Iran repeatedly. I’ve supported Palestinian peace NGO’s. I published an open letter on Al Jazeera during the Arab spring of 2011 supporting Arab youth fighting for their freedom. But if you post one thing about Jews or Israelis being murdered or kidnapped what happened to me will likely happen to you. The only difference is I was able to get reinstated. I’ve attached a video of an 85 year old grandmother kidnapped being paraded in Gaza. Again, I have no words. Only tears. and pain. Thank you to anyone that has spoken up against these atrocities. It shouldn’t have to be a brave act for you to simply speak out against these horrific acts of violence but unfortunately it is.. to my friends that are posting anything other than about this today, I ask that you please wait just one day to get back to normal. For jews around the world, life will never be normal again. This is our new normal. The innocent kidnapped women, elderly, children, babies and men need all the medias attention and help to get their story heard.

Today I am 51 years old. This video of Kurt is how I’m feeling at this very moment: I will eat my cake 🎂 , remain absolutely chill no matter what is going on around me, while waving goodbye to 50 👋🏽 50 was about self reflection. 51 , we get it done. I have gratitude on this day for all those that gave me any spark of positivity over this last year. I don’t take it for granted. There were a few challenges along the way, but thru it all, true friends are revealed. The legendary Seymour Stein has left us. He will always be in my heart. ❤️💛💚 Seymour gave me hope as a teen that there were good hearted caring people in the music business. I was blessed to have had him as an example of “the artists” champion as my entry into the business. No other human is more responsible for my love of music than this man. He signed to his Sire records depeche mode, the smiths, the cure, talking heads, the ramones, soft cell, yaz, echo and the bunnymen, talking heads etc etc Basically the majority of my music listening and music inspiration from 12 years old to today. It’s unimaginable how he signed all my favorite artists what is not unimaginable and very understandable is that they all picked him to sign with. He also signed my early supporter Ice T and my brother Bronx Style Bob which is how I first met Seymour at the age of 17. The most successful artist he signed in his career happens to be the most impactful human in my life : MADONNA. Seymour helped with the launch of Maverick Records. Which helped launch me. Its where I started, made mistakes , learned, grew and thankfully succeeded over the following 16 years. Today I still rock the Maverick brand in much of what I do. An homage to where It all began for me.. Seymour was always very supportive and caring to me. He made sure to let me know he was proud of me all the time!! He was a walking encyclopedia on early music songwriters He could name any classic tune and had this very sweet voice when he would sing them to you. He lead everything he did with his heart. For all of his genius and incredible success he did not amass financial wealth like many of his peers. That wasn’t his focus. He paid all his attention to the music, not to his personal finances. What he did amass was love. Anyone that was lucky to know seymour loved him. I loved him and always will. Seymour, thank you for everything you have done for me. I will never forget you. Seymour and I also shared our bond for our jewish roots. He could recite and sing many of the prayers. I will say a prayer now for our beloved seymour that I know he would appreciate: shema israel, adonei elohenu, adonei echad. 🙏🏽 🕊️

A week ago the incredibly talented Paul Reubens @peeweeherman left us. Im sharing this video he sent me on my birthday to show the heart of the man behind the Pee-wee suit and red bow tie ❤️ He was such a kind soul. He did this video not just for me but for many others on their birthday. When is the last time any of us sent a video this loving and special to a friend on their birthday?
