My son Hudson exploring the tree fort on Thanksgiving. I built the fort with my brother and cousins about 35 years ago. We regularly slept in another little shack that was part of the fort which has since been dismantled, once my brother and I called it home for a month when we were young teens and we ate primarily small mouth bass and blueberries for much of that time…It’s always fun and a little nostalgic to show my kids the places I grew up that meant a lot to me.

We were hit with a one in 50 year storm on night 1 of our trip on the Stikine. After a few beautiful days of travel in to our put in, we were told that the weather was going to change. And change it did.

I then head up the mountain and the gas are tough but I get lucky and find a Dall’s Sheep trail when nearing the top. Wild blueberries and delicious mountain run off water are on the menu this day too. Check it out and enjoy!
