Kilian Jornet Instagram – Well, it seems I’ll be on the bike for some days. Some days before Eiger Ultra trail I started to feel pain in my right hip. I thought it was a muscle problem or tendinitis that would go away with some easy days but after a check we found out it’s a bone edema. Probably I was back to fast to do very big running weeks after the Himalaya expedition, where we come always a bit more weak, specially this year with the virus and the avalanche, and I didn’t work on strength to take care of my weak left leg.I was feeling good linking big running weeks and feeling great on my training but well, it’s also part of pushing the limits… It feels it’s a bad timing to get this injury so close to the races but managing injuries and recovery is part of an athlete’s life. I’ll focus on the recovery now and see when I can run again!
Kilian Jornet Instagram – Last time I was in Grindelwald it was to follow Ueli Steck up the north face of Eiger. It was a great day for me, running, climbing and learning from one of the best alpinists. A few days after Ueli went back alone to climb the face in 2h22’, what remains today as one of the most incredible speed climbs of all time. I was lucky to get to know Ueli and to spend some time on the mountains with him, learning and getting inspired from his fluidity and mastery in the art of mountaineering. Tomorrow I’ll be running under the shadow of this same summit, with the foot on the trails but probably the head up in the walls.
