Amelia Lily Instagram – What a way to spend a Saturday 💙 I have said it many times and I will always say it again, I am proud to be a type 1 Diabetic – it’s morphed me into the strong woman I am today. Today I had the absolute pleasure of going to @leagueofdiabetes type 1 diabetes festival. I’ve met the most amazing people. Gavin, Paula, Jean and everyone involved thank you for looking after me and asking me to be involved. Martin, 69 years you’ve lived with type 1 and I hope one day I can say the same💙 I felt so honoured to be around every single person this evening that goes through exactly what i go through every day, we are all warriors and superheroes! I have never felt more motivated and empowered.

Amelia was a finalist on the @thexfactor 💫 and her track “You Bring Me Joy” achieved a no.2 in the UK charts; she thrived in #CelebrityBigBrother 🍿 and has also been living with #type1diabetes since the age of 3 – so it’s an exciting honour to have her join us in #Greenwich on the 14th October.

Amelia shared: “Entering the crazy and fast pace entertainment industry at just 16 years old, managing my diabetes was definitely a struggle at times. However, I’ve managed to prove to myself and to all my other fellow type 1’s that you really can achieve anything with the condition. It’s made me the strong young woman I am today and I now want to use my platform to help everyone else who has type 1 💙”
