If you don’t and energy levels and performance remains at the same high level throughout, then GREAT. I couldn’t be happier for you!
However, for the majority this is not the case and too little guidance is available to help work WITH your physiology instead of AGAINST it.
The calorie count should still be consistent with your goals (lose weight, maintain, gain weight) but the timing and quantities, especially for athletic performance MATTERS. @rpstrength
During your high hormone phase (luteal phase, hormones peak 5 days before period) your ability to access glycogen is decreased due to high levels of estrogen and more of your energy will be pulled from fat stores – however this is not great for higher intensity exercise where you need carbohydrates to fuel the anaerobic metabolism.
Long story short: luteal phase you’ll need to supplement with carbohydrates to maintain blood sugar levels to support high intensity exercise – so you’ll most likely need to move your macros around a little to improve performance and overall wellbeing. #femaleperformance #knowledgeispower #WomenAreNotSmallMen
WHO NEEDS MORE PROTEIN??
There is a common misconception that men need more protein than women. It might be true in absolute terms if there is more muscle mass to support, but something that is often overlooked is how the female body responds to the ingested protein and the quantities.
Women actually need larger doses of protein post training to avoid staying in a catabolic state (muscle breakdown) after training than men. To trigger the rebuild response current research suggests that we need higher amounts of leucine, so ladies, get yourself an extra large scoop – the one in the bag is for men, so let’s start double dipping.
Rule of thumb:
30 year old = 30g protein
Menopause = 40g protein

The thing about snatching….
Warming up and at lighter loads I keep the focus on getting in quality reps, proper bar path, speed and consistent foot work. At heavier loads I keep 1, maybe 2 things still in there then at the max load I need to just let go…. Don’t think about what’s on the bar, preferably dance a little and then just hit that grooooove 🤌
We teach our bodies what to do when the real fight comes. Fundamentals should be solid and come competition you need to just be able to trust it.

HEART RATE, WEIGHTS above 85% of max and SLEEP might be the key to staying YOU for as long as possible!
Most of the current recommendations for women when they age do little to actually counter-act the changes that are happening in the body. Loss of muscle mass, loss of bone density, and lower energy levels are part of life but there are LOTS we can do to delay the process for as long as possible.
INTENSITY AND LOAD is the KEY
Plain and simple, when women grow older (peri and post menopause) the hormones are no longer in balance and the decrease in estrogen and progesterone production will cause bodywide changes – both physically and mentally.
HOWEVER, by dosing in High Intensity Interval Training and heavy loading, you can assist the dwindling hormone levels with sending stimulus to the brain, muscle and bones that it is all still needed!
High intensity, heavy loads and rock solid sleep is the best way to be at your best as menopause is approaching and beyond.
Track your cycle, your daily strain and most importantly your SLEEP. Being able to track and monitor your sleep is the best way to make sure you are setting yourself up for a “successful” nights sleep! Video @arninn95

What lift makes you feel strong??
For me it’s definitely DL 🤝cause it’s the most amount of weight I can move and I always want to be able to pick things up from the floor.
Here I don’t want to break the tiles so we got the safety straps set up as close to the ground as possible . It was quite hard to always go from dead stop in that position 😅🍑🤌
