For everyone saying this is a “complex” conflict. I’ve broken it down in 1 minute.
(You’re welcome)
1. You can and should conndemn both Hamas and the Israeli government — both are extremists.
2. You can and should mourn civilian deaths — no matter who they are. Each innocent life lost is a a tragedy.
3. You can and should condemn anti-Arab, and anti-Semitic sentimiment. Hate is hate.
4. You can’t “all sides” the rest. You can and should condemn illegal military occupation of Palestine that’s been happening for 75 years.
5. You can and should remember human rights organisation internationally and in Israel have called the occupation “apartheid”.
6. You can and should remember that the UN has called for an end to ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.
7. You can and should know that it is a war crime to cut off food, water and electricity to civilians in Gaza – women, babies and the elderly.
8. You can and should remember the celebrities and influencers here and abroad who took an interest when Jewish people were senselessly killed, and posted support — but have previously and will continue — to say nothing about apartheid and ethnic cleansing of Arabs killed in such large numbers, agencies struggle to even count the dead.
9. You can and should speak out against the occupation of Palestine — because that is the root of all of this.
10. You can and should know that unless the occupation of Palestine comes to an end — the pain, suffering and bloodshed will continue.
Note: comments off to limit hate speech. Please be kinder and more compassionate to one another.

Once upon a time there were some women who looked at the status quo and thought f*ck this shit …
And so @penguinbooksaus wrote a book about 50 of them to share their stories. Not Here To Make You Comfortable – out now.

I had to really think about posting this, it feels so strange to think of celebrating an award given the amount of pain in the world and suffering and senseless loss of life particularly in Gaza and Israel.
Instead of talk of de-escalation, saving innocent people (women and kids are always the biggest casualties) and ending the 75 year occupation, leaders are edging closer to an even more widespread war.
As @humanrightswatch explains:
“The unlawful attacks and systematic repression that have mired the region for decades will continue, so long as human rights and accountability are disregarded.”
Speaking of Indigenous human rights, it’s very disheartening locally, to see so much division and misinformation about the Voice to parliament. Despite all the hate and lack of heart, I support the YES vote.
Last night I was recognised by my former university @utsengage. The university celebrated an alumni from every department for ongoing excellence in their respective fields.
I dedicated my award to Peter. Listen to find out why. We all have a ‘Peter’ in our lives. And in the poetic words of @ludacris “move, bitch, get out the way”.
First #SXSW event done where I hosted a panel on the Science of Startups with co-founders
Tusher Menon @mymusclechef
Julie Stevanja @wrapd.ai @stylerunner
Anthony Zaccaria @linktr.ee
A few takeaways from this session:
• Interestingly all of their co-founders are their siblings!
• Having no professional background in their startup business sector did not impede them whatsoever.
• While they all wish they had looked after the health and self cared more in the first couple of years, one bit of advice would be to warn your family and friends you’ll go AWOL until you get your idea off the ground
• The hardest part of a startup is actually starting and just backing yourself.
Then on Friday 3.30pm I’ll be back at the ICC joining @danilic bringing you A Rational Fear LIVE as we mock the FUTURE OF EVERYTHING with @constababble , @edcoper Chris Taylor @dylabolical

Today is International Day of the Girl! As a mum of two clever and curious girls, and the daughter of a refugee who was pulled out of school at the age of 8, it’s something I care deeply about.
Shit fact. Gender equality is STILL 131 years away (according to @worldeconomicforum)
Today, I am joining Plan International Australia and standing with girls everywhere, because we don’t believe that it should take another 5 generations of girls before we are all equal.
This Day of the Girl, Plan International Australia is holding its first ever Giving Day.
And if you donate today, your kind donation will be matched, doubling your impact! Link in bio.
Click on the link in my bio, or head over to plan.org.au today… or even give them a call on 137 526… and donate today for Plan International’s first-ever Giving Day
