Ashley Judd Instagram – On #WorldMentalHealthDay, I find myself reflecting on how we can take care of ourselves, in big ways and small. We all deserve the time to sit, breathe, and be present with ourselves to change the things we can and be more at peace with the things we cannot. For me this week, I’ve been able to be in sustained peace, in Maine, watching the autumn sunrises and sunsets. Today is a reminder to give yourself what you need first so you can give back to your friends, family, and community with love and strength. How do you show up for yourself? Self care isn’t selfish. It is self esteem. And we can only provide to others what we, ourselves, posses.
Ashley Judd Instagram – It is such a sweet joy to be with my Chosen Sisters on the @u.s.surgeongeneral’s (Dr Vivek Murthy – so lovely) podcast, House Calls, where I share how friendship has been one of my most important lifelines. We talk about the power of friendship and connection — the bonding, community, mutual support and aid, accountability, running charades, pie, laughter, our many travels, Smoky Mountains, bonus nieces and nephews, Mamaw (Mom), Pop, Uncle Roy. To my Chosen Sisters, Logan, Heather, and Sam — thank you for your deep trust. It is an awesome thing to be yours, and to know you are open to sharing in such a venue about how its works between us. Thank you for these memories of a lifetime, the photos of which are but a small slice. The one at the tree, the grief is so present with me and yet – so are you. So are you. And deep love for our full community, LCB, TAJ, MM. We met at @YWCA #zumba, recovery support groups, a funeral, getting glamour for an event. God blesses in so many ways.
